Yes. I suppose it's because we don't spend a lot of time together or communicate with one another much. Everyone sort of does their own thing. When we do come together for occasions it's always a pleasure. No one tries to get into anyone's personal business.
My own children yes, my siblings only from a distance. Too long too close presents too many differences, that cause conflict.
Yes. My mom is my best friend and I considered my grandma to be one of my best friends too, before she passed away. I am close with my cousins, aunts and uncles. I can honestly say that I absolutely adore my family and I feel very lucky to be surrounded by such wonderful people.
I completely credit my grandmother for raising such a lovely, tight-knit group and passing along the importance of family to her kids, who then passed it on to us.
