Chill Yogurt Cafe in Columbus Georgia Review

Updated on September 8, 2010

Chill - Have Yogurt Your Way!

I've always been a fan of frozen yogurt, but you'll find that some places have frozen yogurt that is literally frozen yogurt, but others have the kind that tastes just like real ice cream. To me, both are good, but the ice cream replica is better.

Chill has the good frozen yogurt, where you don't know you're even eating yogurt. It tastes like ice cream, so if you're not a big yogurt fan, don't be scared to try this place out.

If you want to play it safe you're first go around, no one will fault you. I saw a lady fill up her bowl to the rim and over with nothing bot yogurt and no toppings. I played it safe with Cream Vanilla and Triple Chocolate topped with rainbow sprinkles, but no matter what you want to try out, remember that it's pay by the ounce.

For every one ounce in the bowl, it's $0.45.

Why Yogurt is Better than Ice Cream

If you're still not sure about hte frozen yogurt, keep this in mind....

It's healthier than a bowl of ice cream.

This is a great treat if you're on a diet or just trying to watch what you eat. Frozen yogurt and sorbets are low in fat and sugar. Most flavors only contain 20 to 35 calories (of course that's before all the toppings).

There are even potential benefits to eating yogurt (plain or frozen). It can potentiall strengthen your immune system; prevent constipatoin and bloating; lower cholesterol; lower blood pressure; reduce inflammation; improve mineral absorption; provide vitamin D, calcium, and protein; prevent harmful bacteria growth; and provide live and active probiotic cultures which can aid in digestion.

Go to Chill

Upon my first time going to chill, which was just a few days ago, I was quite surprised. The overall decor was pretty neat with the orange base and backed chairs, and the bubbles all over the room. The cafe was definitely designed in a cutesy manner, sort of in resemblance to a little girls room.

Going to the start of the yogurt, there was only one bowl size available, so this is what I choose. The other two sizes had run out and hadn't been refilled yet.

I proceeded to fill my bowl with my vanilla and chocolate frozen yogurt, added my sprinkles at the topping station, and then had my bowl weighed, and paid.

...

No spoons. Another employee had to run to Wal*Mart across the street to buy plastic spoons because the place was out. Now comes the delima, how are we supposed to eat this bowl of goodness before it melts?

Solution: Go to Subway next door and get plastic-ware, and eat the frozen yogurt with a plastic fork.

It worked out great, and eventually the employee returned with many bags of spoons. She also was able to refill the two other size bowls that had run out.

Basically, the place was packed, and one person just couldn't run the store alone. This is a newly opened yogurt cafe in Columbus, and so far seems to be doing very well. It's neighbors are a Subway and a Smoothie King, and time will only tell whether or not the new dessert shop will affect the sales of the smoothies. Personally, they're both great and I woudn't trade one for hte other.

There are many different flavors of yogurt to choose from. You may fidn a few differences at your location, but for the most part, you won't be skimped on variety.
