Veal is a Meal? Poop Is Pudding!

Updated on May 1, 2010

Veal is a Meal? Poop Is Pudding!

I seem to get a little lost,

Every time my thoughts get tossed.

When my mind gets made,

I try to call a spade a spade.

But the words that people use,

Tend to cover up and confuse.

Why would we call a young calf veal,

And even kill it for a meal?

Could you explain how,

Hamburger is now a cow?

Jeeze for heaven’s sake,

Now we call a cow a steak?

A juicy hamburger is really ground cow.

Let’s eat some dog and call it “bow-wow”.

Grind meat and fat into a spreadable paste

Call it pate and you have exquisite “taste”.

Let’s mix rodent parts with pig,

And yes, I’ll give carnivores a dig.

It’s ground all up and called “hot-dog”.

If a spade were a spade it would be groundhog!

A pig will be called ham

A young sheep is a “rack of lamb”?

Why does it push my button,

To hear a castrated sheep called mutton?

Do we hide it from the mind’s view,

To not eat pig, but bar-be-cue?

I don’t like lies; I don’t care for any fibs.

Who is it that hungers for baby-back ribs?

Let’s clink our glasses and drink a toast

Say grace and eat a little pot roast.

It may taste better and be a kinder cut,

If we all avoid calling it a big cow’s butt.

Let’s take a pigs head and add a little mouse.

We’ll add a bit of vinegar, then call it souse.

Let’s get our parts together and get a good start.

Include meat from the feet, tongue, and the heart.

It congeals when cooled because of gelatin in the skull.

Try these things to keep your food from being dull.

When you’re done it all becomes as pretty as you please,

And although there is no dairy you can call it “head cheese”.

Let’s all play a game and change the name,

And we’ll all feel better while we eat our “game”.

Let’s eat some snails and call it escargot.

Let’s dine on poop and call it guano.

This actions that brought and kept this calf here is from where some evil spirits come.

Not from the calf, but from the actions of those requiring this degradation.

Treating animals in this way is evil.

It can only bring about evil.

I'd rather do most anything than tell people this.

Is there some pleasure that I get?

What in God's name would that pleasure be?

Do I get pleasure from alienating people?

The easier thing to do would be to pretend this torturing of animals does not exist.

Quite honestly- every person that can believe in God and atheists please- get on your knees and ask God to relieve me of this "DUTY" that is my CROSS right now.

I want to be apathetic but I can't.

If you aren't against this - you are for it.

At best - your apathy creates evil!

God has not intended HIS animals to be treated this way!

I don't need a scripture or a blessing from anybody to see the evil in treating a calf this way!

Veal- Bon Appetit!

A calf lies dead in the slatted stall in which it stood for all of its life, with
no mother, sunlight or decent food. This is the fate of a calf raised for veal.

Hi Pmccray. You cannot trust "man". You cannot trust any man in business. It is folly to trust the UNITED STATES of AMERICA. Our government, the one we all would lay down our lies for is a fraud by the THIEVES that rule us.Thank you Pmccray, for stopping by and commenting.

It's not humane. Tainted meat gets recycled to school children If there is a problem with meat. bacteria or other wise, it winds up at schools or in frozen dinners, soups, chili, etc. The bottom line is- you cannot trust "man" to do the right think when it comes to health-particularly someone else's health. The desire for filthy lucre will have people selling you "poop" as pudding. Eating meat is satisfying taste buds and sacrificing health. It's an out-dated ritual.

      I'm having a cow.

      © All rights reserved

      I've found that beef cattle

      are so hard to face

      alone in a pasture...

      head to head...

      one on one

      I think it's their....

      big liquid eyes...

      with that gaze

      looking sadly contented,

as they chew all that grows,

      into recycled cud

      I guess it's just knowing

      that they're eating their way

to a date with a hammer...

      to become my hamburger

food I've grown up to to love,

      countless times at Mickey D's

      pigging out on the remnants,

      of some distant relation

      ancestor to this bovine,

      who is staring me down

but my guilt is quite fleeting

      as I turn to depart,

      from this expendable resource

that tastes oh, so damn good,

      then it's off to a drive-thru

      to dampen the hunger,

that came on me quite sudden

in my walk cross this farm,

      and the furthest thing now

      from my mind is remorse,

      at this poor, simple creature

      cause I'm having a cow,

      with lettuce, and tomatoes

      pickles, ketchup...and cheese,

      on a hot, toasted bun

"Could you pass the salt, please??"

      mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~MFB III

I don't in any way condone cruelty to animals, i think even slaughter should be humane, obviously if we let all the beef cattle live full lives and reproduce in a free range we would eventually be overun by cows, and have to cull them anyway. But I do sympatize with the animals we treat poorly to make them fatter, or leaner, all in the name of consumption. Great hub~~~MFB III

Thanks for posting all this. It's a lot of work. I've read this as well as the rest of the Bible.

All of this you have written is true. Also there is no mistaking God's intent. The Bible is written by men.

The fact remains to that our bodies are God's temple. We defile it eating meat that remains in our intestines and causes cancer.

You don't really have much of a choice unless you join a crazy society as it is.

As our population increases there is NO WAY WE CAN EVEN PROVIDE MEAT FOR THE ENTIRE WORLD.

There is no way that everybody can afford to eat meat now.

It is impossible. It's not even on the table for a possibility.

Can you imagine the torturing of animals, the blood, the disease, the absolute horror of factory farming if the world was entirely on meat?

The worst of it is that meat is not good for us.

23"Everything is permissible"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"—but not everything is constructive.

      Thanks Dusty!

Mick, I do not present this as a stumbling block. To take Romans and make it say all meat is clean is one who would force that meaning, which I do not. I try and live by the New Testament Faith. As I believe those who choose to live by part of the Old Testament Law, is cursed to live by the complete law. I also agree with the cruelty to the mass production and slaughter of these animals and the way they are treated is unjust. I how ever do not partake in that world. I eat what is wild and it is taken cleanly and has cloven hooves and multiple stomachs and they chew there cud. The deer have no upper teeth just a jaw line with lower teeth to pull the young grass and store it and later after bedding down they chew their cud and return it to the second of 5 stomach areas. I'll not go into the anatomies of all, I assure you they are clean. I'm not certain of the Rattle Snake, but I don't waste what has been provided. I'll end with noting what the verses in Romans makes quite clear, if you come to dinner I will not put a plate of meat in front of you to eat, I will not trip you I will go to where I need to and get the vegetables you require.

      1 Corinthians 10:

23"Everything is permissible"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible"—but not everything is constructive. 24Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.

25Eat anything sold in the meat market without raising questions of conscience, 26for, "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it."[c]

27If some unbeliever invites you to a meal and you want to go, eat whatever is put before you without raising questions of conscience. 28But if anyone says to you, "This has been offered in sacrifice," then do not eat it, both for the sake of the man who told you and for conscience' sake[d]— 29the other man's conscience, I mean, not yours. For why should my freedom be judged by another's conscience? 30If I take part in the meal with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of something I thank God for?

31So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. 32Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God— 33even as I try to please everybody in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved.

      Romans 14

      The Weak and the Strong

1Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters. 2One man's faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. 3The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does, for God has accepted him. 4Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand.

5One man considers one day more sacred than another; another man considers every day alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. 6He who regards one day as special, does so to the Lord. He who eats meat, eats to the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who abstains, does so to the Lord and gives thanks to God. 7For none of us lives to himself alone and none of us dies to himself alone. 8If we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord.

9For this very reason, Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living. 10You, then, why do you judge your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For we will all stand before God's judgment seat. 11It is written:

" 'As surely as I live,' says the Lord,

      'every knee will bow before me;

every tongue will confess to God.' "[a] 12So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.

13Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in your brother's way. 14As one who is in the Lord Jesus, I am fully convinced that no food[b] is unclean in itself. But if anyone regards something as unclean, then for him it is unclean. 15If your brother is distressed because of what you eat, you are no longer acting in love. Do not by your eating destroy your brother for whom Christ died. 16Do not allow what you consider good to be spoken of as evil. 17For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit, 18because anyone who serves Christ in this way is pleasing to God and approved by men.

19Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification. 20Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All food is clean, but it is wrong for a man to eat anything that causes someone else to stumble. 21It is better not to eat meat or drink wine or to do anything else that will cause your brother to fall.

22So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves. 23But the man who has doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin.

Mick I'm like a bad penny and just keep showing up. Your stance is affirmed in Romans and it is a matter of respect from one to another! So I learned something today and it is your fault :)

God Bless You as you make your Yes Yes and your NO NO.

Thanks Dusty. This and our "injustice system" weigh very heavily on me. Most think both are trivialities and they're not. I appreciate your coming back and explaining.

I feel like I just urinate people off with my stances about the "injustice system" and my stance against animal abuse.

I have no idea what hell awaits me and how much hell I make for myself in this "present". I actually have a bit of resentment toward God for giving me this cross. Even saying this opens myself up for slings and arrows from believers and non-believers. I have walked where I have walked and I have seen too much crap.

      I am really weary.

I shave my legs from racing - now from the habit of the past mostly. Shaving is beneficial for massage and if you crash it's easy to bandage. So I still shave the legs. I may be racing a bit tomorrow. There may be just a ride- there will be a race in it.

      Thanks for coming back Dusty.

Mick, Sir! Definitely NOT a jab at you. I was just cutting up a little. I absolutely respect you for your stand and sticking with it. So if feelings were hurt I apologize straight away as I never intend on hurting folks for what they believe in. God granted free will and so do I. Just not free will for me. I have got it ready and just need to read, the parts of my life Guide the Bible, in reference to being a veggie eater or not.

I have yet to but intend to log on to Yahoo and watch the bike trips. I had friends in California who did the bike thing all the way down to shaving their legs. I attended several of their bike races where they used the IRS building facility for the race track. I could not then and certainly could not now even dream of being fit enough to ride a bicycle any where but down hill, so I'll have to stick to my old Harley to get a good ride here where helmets are not required.

      God Bless and ride safe!

No apology needed. Check out a book by Dr. Joel Furhman titled "Eat to Live". I believe you will find the view it represents to be close to yours regarding eating meat. I also agree with you about mass produced foods. We support local farmers who pracice sustainable agriculture and sell eggs produced from humanely treated chickens. Good Hub!

Paule- Thanks Paule. Before I get carried away here I just want to tell you that I love you and appreciate your coming by and saying hey- and reading- and commenting. I just added a capsule below the calf.

Some change has to be made in our thinking about our food. It's compromised in so many ways- even our vegetables. The factory farms don't care about the "consumers".

I'm a born-again idiot and I've eaten like the rest of the world. But- animal abuse is wrong.

I do eat seafood- not regularly. I'm mostly beans, fruit, protein shakes, cereal, spinach, feta cheese.

Where does one go for good food? We have to take supplements because we're robbed by the food growers.

I don't know when I've had seafood. I had some eggs recently that came from chickens that were treated inhumanely I'm sure.

I am not a perfect man. I'm an idiot. Most people are smarter. Most people are more just. Maybe they aren't but I'll take whatever title they bestow on me. I ain't running for mayor or anything.

I just find it hard to not tell people the truth- that this obsession with meat is preposterous. Our bodies are not meant to digest this. Any-but all-doctors should tell folks this.

Sorry Bud. I'd rather take up knitting or something. I wish this wasn't "laid on me" as it is. I just know that evil comes from evil. Inhumanity comes from inhumanity. Apathy feeds them both.

If I didn't care about people I shut the heck up!

Sorry Dude- I don't want to care about this. The task is too great.

      Animals can't talk!

Dusty that is some great rhyming. You killed it. You're using the parts. You don't depend on your food coming from tortured animals. I respect you for your know how and I suppose you have more respect than folks who rely on someone else to do their "killing". If all Americans had to kill other people there would be less war. If people had to kill their food there would be less carnivores.

I'm not sure if this is a jab at me or not but the carnivorous diet is not good for these bodies we're in.

I can appreciate your eating what you do from necessity. You live alone. I don't grow my food. I don't own what's necessary to do it.

We've all had to do unpleasant things, things we haven't wanted to do. I know it's better to gravitate away from doing unpleasant things.

I see nothing funny about veal or the torturing of other animals. There's nothing funny about killing.

I don't want to be on planet ME.

I'm not wise, I'm no sage.

But you or most anyone can see,

I'm in better health than most my age!

Where is the arena? Give me a test.

I'll prove I'm almost as healthy as all the rest.

With all the poisons in the world today,

This is a lot for even me to say.

I can't add a day to this sorry life.

But I will not be spending it adding strife.

I'll base my reasoning on God's Word.

I'll say it as long as I can be heard.

Take me Lord if it's your will.

But for me-I refuse to kill.

Mick, hahaha I laughed so hard I farted and that was just as I started! By the time was done I decided to put some Elk on a bun. I killed it, and gutted then skinned it, after eating I produced a good shit. After birth it ate veggies and grew to a large size, my grocery bill it did minimize. I eat lotsa meat'cuz it's hard to beat, chicken a Sunday treat, around noon is when I eat. I raise my own and it's good to the bone 'cuz I live in the no veggie zone. A healthy turd come from the big fat bird, so I'll stop my word, with a smile you can see for a mile. When serving up treat make mine meat!

Thanks for the laugh my friend, with this I end.
