What can you tell me about Bananas?
Is bananas really the monkeys favorite food?
Yes bananas are a favorite food of monkeys.
Bananas are now available all year with today's shipping and since they grow in a climate where their is no winter.
When you buy them at the super market they should be plump and the skin should be free of bruises or black spots. Ideally bananas should be purchased green or at least with some green on them and allow them to finish ripening at home.
As soon as a banana ripens at room temperature it should be stored in the refrigerator to slow down the ripening process. The skin will turn black but this won't effect the banana for a few days.
You can freeze bananas but they should be eaten while still frozen as they get mushy when thawed. You can thaw frozen bananas and use them in cooking.
If you want healthy dried banana snacks you will need to slice them thin, soak them in lemon juice, and dehydrate them in a food dehydrator.
Bananas contain less water than other fruits. In case you don't know bananas are really a type of berry. Bet you didn't know that did you.
If you put a ripe apple in a bag with green bananas the bananas will ripen quickly.
Bananas are very high in calories. One should not take this if he or she is trying to reduce fat. It is tasty, sweet and one can make delicious desserts or ilk shake. But diabetics should strictly avoid this. Though I am giving so many advice to others but the fact is I love eating bananas. Specially banana custard is my favorite
