This is a tasteless, odorless chemical. You cannot taste it at all, let alone any difference between the two.
They are also proven causative agents in some cancers, so they should be avoided altogether. If that means giving up lunchmeats, oh, well. They are not healthy for us.
True, a lot of things are not healthy for us, but if we have a choice in the matter of what we select to feed ourselves, it makes sense to minimize those food items that are detrimental.
