Why do people who has plenty become so stingy to give?
You discover that those that struggle to give are people who believe that if they give, God will bless them in return, but why the rich restrict or afraid of giving, so that they can gather more. Is that a good reason?
Yes, generosity and stinginess are two elements of personality that don't relate to how rich or poor a person is. Someone who is very poor can be extremely generous, and someone who is very rich can easily be a very stingy person.
Usually there are deep insecurities or other beliefs around money that are regulating their behavior. If you determine what constructs their perceptions on money, you'll gain more insight into why they behave the way they do.
William Feather once said "The petty economies of the rich are just as amazing as the silly extravagances of the poor." - how true! The fact is often that they are not stingy because they are rich - they are rich because they are stingy. Saving every penny is exactly how they became rich in the first place.
But let's not generalise- many rich people give extremely generously and are very aware of the important world issues like poverty and sickness.
They are not stingy. Success is a long trip. These people worked hard and sacrificed to be what they are today. I believe that the have nots should help themselves and not to look for handouts! The rich were not put on earth to support and help poorer people! Thank you.
Giving behavior is inculcated one. you can't force people to do what doesn't come from within. there is no question of rich and poor in this matter .

My first hub...

Finally got around to reading the TOS for Amazon associates UK (spurred on by seeing a measly 1.47% referral rate on a TV sold on my account) and found out the maximum they will pay out in fees on one item is £7 (10 Euros) except books, DVD's, MP3 downloads. How stingy is that!

Everyone hates the "rich" and I do not understand why. I was always under the impression the American dream was to become successful and stay successful? SO why are we always trying to punish the rich?

Why do some people that have plenty of money feel so compelled to have more?I have often wondered why some people that have obviously got plenty of money have to have more money and more money. Surely there comes a time when enough money is simply enough money!

Why do some people detest socioeconomic wealth so much, even contending that suchwealth is abhorrent? Why is socioeconomic wealth so demonized? Is this demonization of socioeconomic wealth have a basis in envy?

Biden averaged giving $369 per year to charity over the last decade. $369 on an income of $320,000?? That's sad. We make way less but donate more than that.http://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/e … cial_N.htm
