I got my start at the age of 4. My mother and my grandmother would bring a chair to the stove and let me help. It grew from there. After I was old enough to cook on my own, I took it upon myself to try different foods and different flavors. Now I have to say that I am pretty good! Maybe cooking was my calling in life. I love to take all kinds of flavors and see what I can come up with.
What an interesting question. I don't know what the initial draw to food was, but it seems to have been something I've been interested in all my life. I can remember pulling out cookbooks at a very young age, I would bake and cook anything I thought was interesting. It never occurred to me that I might be attempting something too difficult for my age. If we didn't have the ingredients, I would substitute or jump on my bike and head to the store. Saturday morning cooking shows on PBS were the highlight of my week!

What do you do when you just start to get bored with food?I thumb through recipe after recipe and it all is the same to me. I'm bored of American food and all ethnic food seems redundant too. How do I spice it up with out adding the spicy?
