Tigers within the zoo will be usually fed six days a week and one fast day. Tigers vary very much in size from the small Sumatran to the large Amur so the amount fed will vary. An averahe of say 13lbs of meat fror a female and 15lbs meat for a male. The meat fed should have a percentage of bone for exercising the teeth. One day a week chickens with feathers for roughage is a good idea.
Tigers fix on their meat and so if beef is their normal food and suddenly replaced with goat they may well not eat it....maybe for days until they are starving hungry.
It is NEVER necessary to feed anythig live to zoo tigers!!!
