Which flour is used while making cookies?

I am planning to bake some cookies but not sure if its plain wheat flour or the cake flour. Chocolate cookie recipes are also appreciated big_smile Thanks in advance. big_smile

When recipes say "flour" they tend to mean all-purpose wheat flour, but check your cookbooks glossary to see if they mean something else.  US and UK cookbooks can sometimes differ on how they name things.

I've always intrepreted flour to mean "all-purpose white flour"... especially for cookies... wheat flour for pizza dough and baking bread...
