It's not really a fall soup, per se I would suppose, but I have an affinity for ham and bean soup. And Fall is also an excellent time to get the beef stew going too.

A friend of mine makes an amazing split pea with ham (in her crock pot).

I like to make artichoke soup.  It's cream-based.

Butternut squash is a fall favorite.

I also make the most amazing vegetable chowder with turnips, leeks, carrots, celery, and potatoes in a colby cheese base.'

Finally, my husband uses chopped beef (the beef stew meat in the package is fine) for a steak soup featuring beef broth, A1 sauce, and red wine vinegar.

    Oh, and what about Minestrone?

A number of good dishes are not usually considered when looking at the ways to prepare fruits, vegetables, and grains for harvest feasts and events of thanksgiving from Late August through the end of November. The offerings on this page are just a few, and you likely have more in an old recipe box in the back of a cupboard or a handwritten cookbook from your ancestors. read more

I have a hot meal that is kind of like a soup, its chicken and sausage gumbo. Real good to eat on those cold, winter days.

I love to make pumpkin or butternut squash soup in the fall.  All of that delicious squash is in season!

    Mexican style soup
This is a popular soup I discovered after moving to the south midwest, (Oklahoma) that I never heard of living up in the northeast, (Ohio) and has quickly become one of my favorites. And as with any new dish that I try eating out I immediatly had to learn how to make it at home.
