Do you have over a dozen cookbooks in your cupboard that you never use? I do and I am not sure...
why, I buy a couple a year, usually at good will and intend to use them more for ideas than actually verbatim recipes, but I still rarely look through them. Anyone else?
I just got rid of (donated) some cookbooks that have been gathering dust for years! I now have 3 that I use on a regular basis.
LOL me too I tend to impulse buy when it comes to cookbooks, more so at garage sales!
It's embarrassing, but yes! Well, it doesn't help that I'm a chef and love to read cookbooks. They are all over the house. People watch TV and I read cookbooks!
Don't we all... buy then keep, hardly use, and sometimes, I am surprised that I find a recipe I want to use, in a cook book I bought, but never went through at all before... strange, but true.
I have an entire book case full of old cookbooks and newspaper/magazine clippings...not to mention and entire folder of recipies on my computer. My husband LOVES to cook and experiment. He will often combine the best parts of several recipes and come up with a unique creation of his own.
The only problem is, he rarely touches the books. These days he will usually look through the computer files, and if he doesn't find what he wants, he will look for recipes online!
I used to have so many cook books, but I ended up selling them all on amazon. Its so much easier to just look up the recipe ahead of time, and bring my laptop in the kitchen.
