What's an appropriate tip % at a buffet where you serve yourself?
10% is generally considered appropriate (in regions where 20% is proper for table service). You'll still get table service for drinks, you'll get bussed, and wait staff will check in with you to see if you need anything, so 10%.
Portion control, select healthy foods (vegetables over sweets), chicken or turkey instead of ribs and you should do great.
when me & my girl friend eat at those kinds of places we leave a $5.oo tip .
it saves us a lot of work cooking and cleaning and they remember us next time and allways seem to treat us good . they work hard and get paid on the cheap , so they count on the tips .
