When my bananas are about to go I throw them into the freezer until I am ready to make Banana Bread. Does anyone have any idea how long I can keep the bananas in the freezer before they are too old to use?
As long as they're out of their peels and wrapped tightly, I'd say quite some time -- I honestly don't know an upper limit there, but have had bananas sitting in the freezer for as much as 10-11 months before they were used. I know they say meat can be kept for up to two years. I'd guess that as long as it's not freezer burned, it's still good to go.
Just as an extra point-frozen bananas make a great snack! They nearly taste like ice cream! Just take off their skin first and pop them in a freezer bag...delicious!!!

Has anyone ever eaten green bananas?I am aware that some cultures eat them. If you have a recipe, please share it. And no, I am not talking about plantains.
