What is the most useful item in your kitchen?

I find that my spatula and bleach cleaner are indispensable to the kitchen. What keeps your kitchen cooking?

I'm just wait for someone cheeky to answer with "my wife"!

I think the most useful item in my kitchen is my microwave. That's the item that gets the most use anyway.

My most useful item in the kitchen........I would have to say my cooking spray. I don't use alot of oil when cooking, so I use cooking spray. Next to this, I would say my spices and seasonings. My husband can't have too much salt. In order to make our meals tasty.................spices and seasonings without salt content.

I have to go with the basics and say knives. Without them nothing else matters much. Probably why man invented them before anything else.
Notice that you don't see archaeologists pointing out ancient coffee grinders or juicers when they show where early man lived.
As I travel around the world the one thing I always carry with me is a good set of knives. Since I usually stay for months or years I can tell you that they are what you will want to bring. Everything else is just a luxury and I can tell you that you can do most things with chop sticks or a spoon but they don't cut worth a darn.

As, being an Nepali, "SALT" is the most useful item in my kitchen.According to the context of my country, almost 90% food becomes incomplete without salt. Therefore, I hope salt is the most useful item in my kitchen.

It's a toss up between a high-end serrated knife, a really good pair of kitchen scissors, and a tiny grater for garlic, ginger, and other small foods.

I have to say my coffee maker, a 12-inch saute pan, and a good set of knives keep my kitchen running.

Start with a good knife...I am talking about a good set of knives not a cheapie set from kmart. But what everyone else seemed to forget is a good cutting board. I posted a hub about cutlery and another hub about cutting boards. Another frequently used tool in our kitchen is a heavy duty steamer. Finally, I have to mention wine glasses. What is dinner without a good bottle of wine?
