Exactly How Much Sugar Is in a Can of Cola Or Soda?
How much sugar is in a regular can of soda?
In a regular 12 oz can of soda, there is usually about 39-40 grams of sugar. That's about 10 sugar cubes, or like a handful of sugar. Kind of a lot.
A 12 oz serving of Pepsi has 41 g of sugar and 150 calories.
A teaspoon of sugar is about 4.2g so it works out at 9.75 teaspoons.
If you work it back from the calories 150 calories divided by 15 (the number of calories in a teaspoon of sugar) gives you 10 teaspoons of sugar.
Either way that's a lot of sugar!!
Keep in mind that the sugar content is going to be more in larger cans and even bottle which vary from 20oz. To 1.5 liters for a personal drink, which may contain up to 2.5 serving.
