What is your opinion of the recent news about Kashi?
Kashi has presented themselves as a healthy, natural food company for years. Recently, The Cornucopia Institute did an independent study on what is really in organic and cereals labeled as natural with some really interesting results. What do you think about the discovery that some Kashi cereal lines tested positive for pesticides and GMO ingredients?
I think the controversy is about people's belief that "natural" is "organic". I have never believed this since many natural things you may not wish to consume like petroleum, pink slime and so on. I do use Kashi cereals but only the ones with the US Organic label. If those are shown to not contain the legally approved organic contents then Kellogs would be in a lot of legal troubles. However, my understanding is that some feel that using the term "natural" is misleading when there are no regulations determining what is natural. If you want organic, you have to buy organic,
