Do you have a favorite dish you make when feeding a large crowd?

I have about twenty-five people coming over this weekend for a cookout.  What do you usually make to feed everyone?

My husband comes from a large family, so for every gathering, I have to come up with easy, and a lot. I just recently submitted a few recipes, that will feed plenty. The taco salad will feed 25. The pork roast, with barbecue sauce will also feed many. The usual calculations for main dishes is 1/4 of a lb. per person, so if you are planning two main dishes, a 4 lb. pork roast would be plenty. The beauty of these recipes are that you can actually enjoy your guests, and not be cooking the whole time. Follow with chocolate cake made into a sheet cake, and cut into small squares, it will be plenty. They can also be made the day before.

I marinate chicken and dry rub ribs. Then I make BBQ sauce from one of the 5 listed in my hub "The Top Five BBQ Sauces by Region". Then I make sides and a cake for dessert. If I'm cooking indoors I usually make a large pot of chili with various toppings or a pot of spaghetti and meatballs with a salad and bread on the side.

I love marinated chicken!  Chili and spaghetti does sound like a great idea for large crowds.  I usually make taco salad and it goes fast.

I have many favorites and I try to squeeze them all in at every event I could

For an outdoor party I serve grilled fish stuffed with tomatoes, onions and celery, grilled pork belly with barbecue sauce and grilled capsicums stuffed with quinoa.

For a children's party, I serve spaghetti with meatballs and a rich bolognese sauce and chicken lollipops.

For formal dinners I serve a complete course with cream of mushroom soup, 7 layer salad, sirloin strips with asparagus and oyster sauce, chicken rolls stuffed with spinach, carrots and cheese and mini blueberry cheesecake for dessert.

One party favorite I like to make is pasta salad supreme. I have a hub with recipes that I often make for a crowd size dishes that I take to summer parties and BBQ's go to http://dorothy0328.hubpages.com/hub/Cro … th-Recipes to see my recipes. I also have other food recipes that can be made for several people on my hub profile.

The pasta salad actually is a very big hit. the pea salad is something very different but the bread bowls and the dip are awesome and very easy
