   My favorite rice dish is simply a bowl of the sticky stuff with some butter and steamed broccoli. I do make this thing with yellow rice, frozen peas, ground beef at hot sauce that was born out of necessity the day before grocery day. Good stuff!

   I like all kinds of rice , prepared almost any way.
   I especially like the plain steamed sticky rice at the Japanese restaurant, with a little sprinkle of soy sauce, but  even if it is fried, seasoned or saucy --it's all good.

      I have never had paella, though I've seen it on Food Network shows and online recipes. I want to try it. Do you make it yourself? I've seen paella pans, are they really necessary?

   My favorite rice dish is mutton biryani - an extremely popular Indian spicy rice dish cooked with a variety of spices, saffron and chopped mutton/lamb pieces.

   My favorite rice dish is  boiled rice along with curry like sambar, dale, mixed curry, cured and papad . It is a south Indian rice dish available mostly in Kerala. It is a vegetarian dish. Rice with fish curry is also very tasty.

    I love rice cake in the Philippines.  It is cooked in coconut milk.  You can dip it to sugar or honey or you can just eat it plain.

    Steamed rice with rasam.
    Steamed rice with fish curry (Goan style).
    Idli (a south-indian dish) with shallot sambar / coconut chutney.
    Dosa / uthappan / aapam with suitable accompaniment.
