How Can You Make A Tasty Vegetarian Pizza?
How Can You Make A Tasty Vegetarian Pizza? What would be the ingredients although all vegetarian yet still taste the same as a real pizza or the closest to a real pizza?
A basic pizza is usually vegetarian, the Margarita is just a bread base with tomato sauce and cheese on top. The only thing that makes them not vegetarian is the addition of meat or fish toppings.
You can make a really tasty vegetarian pizza by adding chopped red and green peppers, mushrooms, red onions and sweetcorn before cooking.
Other alternative vegetarian pizza toppings could be:
spinach and ricotta cheese
extra tomato and fresh chopped basil
I don't know exactly what you mean by "Real" pizza! There are tons of veggie pizza recipes, that I've tried, that I would consider real - so I'm not sure if what you really mean is what would make a good meat substitute and taste like the pizza is meaty? If that's the case can't help too much. But I'll share some of my favorite veggie pizzas. Also, if you're still short on ideas, look at an UNOs menu, I know they have several good vegetarian-friendly pizzas.
Margherita - tomato, fresh mozarella and basil on thin crust is a true Italian classic! (If Italy is your standard, this is more real than the pizzas covred in meat).
Other toppings I've had on pizza include - peppers, onions, mushrooms, squash (I've had butternut, summer and zuchinni - all delicious), olives, ricotta, feta cheese, garlic, spinach, chunky tomatoes, roasted eggplant.
To be honest, I would be surprised if pizzas (much like curries) weren't originally intended to be vegetarian in the first place. Meat on a pizza just seems too... heavy, even when thinly-sliced.
Most good pizzas are comprised of fruits (black olives, red peppers, tomatoes), vegetables (onions, sweetcorn, mushrooms), spices, and various types of cheese. Some pizzerias even serve pizzas with a fried egg on top.

I spent 8 years working in a pizza place, and some of those recipes are still fresh in my brain. We made large specialty pizzas, and sold them mainly by the slice, to a very large lunch crowd of over 500 people in a...
