What is the national food of UK?
What can be called UK national food? Fish & Chips or something else?
Fish & Chips is traditionally considered the UK national dish alongside roast beef and Yorkshire pudding and the full English breakfast. However, former Foreign Secretary, Robin Cook once said that chicken tikka masala was a true British national dish!!!
Tikka masala and Currey is Indian dish not UK.. I think fish and chips is not suitable for that spot.
He made the comment to reflect that curry - in particular Tikka Masala - is one of the UK's favourite dishes. It obviously doesn't originate here, but actually surpassed fish and chips as the nation's favourite.
