A ham sandwich was left on the kitchen table all day. Hubby tried to eat it. Guy thing or not?
My husband was making himself a lunch for work and in his rush he never put his prepared ham sandwich in the bag. That evening when we all returned home from our workday, he noticed it. I was about to cook dinner so I was near. When I turned around he had taken that sandwich and taken a bite out of it. Of course, I panicked and screamed "Noooo! Don't eat that!" He actually rolled his eyes and seemed to get kind of annoyed with me. Is this something that guys do (eating rancid sandwiches) or is it more in the "that was an idiot move specific to your husband" category? Any similar experiences?
Unless you live in a hot climate and it had gone off, I donĀ“t see the problem with it. Too much food wastage in the world.
I fear it may be a guy thing. Once at my daughter's, my son in law found some bologna way in the back of the fridge and it was out of date. He asked me if I thought it was safe to eat. I told him it was not worth risking his health for about 50cents worth of meat. He threw it away. I know no woman that would have considered eating it.
I think the quality of our food is so bad to begin with - we should never take chances. Whew!
Interesting question!
My husband never thinks about stuff like that and I often have to say - hey that lunch meat has been in there for while.
He had a chicken sandwich yesterday and decided LAST night that the chicken may have looked funny. Really guy?
I am super picky about the freshness of food or the safety of packaged or canned items and if I have any doubt, out it goes. Why take a chance?
It's a guy thing for sure. My husband will eat anything, left out or not. A few summers ago he made toast to go with our breakfast and I took one bite and flew to the sink to spit it out. The bread had turned and it was disgusting....and he didn't even notice. He'll cook up some rice and forget to put it in the fridge before going to bed and in the morning he'll simply put it in the fridge and not even think twice, and then be annoyed when I refuse to eat it. Watching Gordon Ramsay on Kitchen Nightmares is slowly changing my husband's evil ways though!!! And I'm with duffsmom about food....I don't take chances.

We haven't had a problem since then with him peeing in the house. Well, my husband put new...
