What 4 ingredients could you live on for a month - and what'd you make?
If you could only buy 4 ingredients to live on for one month, what 4 ingredients would they be - and what could you cook with them? You'd be able to buy unlimited quantities, but be limited to 4 ingredients.
You can't assume you have any other store cupboard ingredients except: salt, pepper and stock cubes.
Off the top of my head...coffee, kefir (plain), raspberries, chicken breast. Logically, I suppose a veggie would be more nutritious than coffee, but if it's only for a month I'm willing to sacrifice a few vitamins to satisfy my caffeine habit.
What would I make? Chicken cooked with any combinations of the other ingredients - grilled, in a sauce, soup, etc; raspberry smoothies; plenty of black coffee!
And now I'm hungry for a smoothie. And chicken with raspberries...
whole wheat pasta, coconut butter, tuna and jarred tomatoes.
I have a pasta addiction. really, I could live on just the pasta and butter, but for extra protein and texture the tuna puts in a good variation, as do the jarred tomatoes. I choose jarred ones as canned just ain't that good for you, and if they're jarred then they're more likely home jarred
Never mind all the nutritional benefits from the coconut butter!
It will be rice, pak choi, chicken and soy sauce. I will make stir fried chicken with pak choi with soysauce and eat it with rice.Yummy, I can live for a month with these ingredients. I can omit the chicken and just have rice with stir fried pak choi and soy sauce.
It will be rice flour dal and eggs. I can cook a whole meal out of it
Since I can buy unlimited quantities it'd be T-bone steaks, onions, tomatoes and flour.
I would have to go with rice, fish, potatoes, and carrots. This assumes water is always available. These ingredients seem pretty versatile.
Hamburger meat, onions, potatoes, and butter (not margarine). As long as I had salt and pepper I could make gourmet meals for ever with these ingredients. It would be hard to give up coffee, but I would rather have potatoes anyways.
Chocolate cheerios (chocoholic, here!), milk, nutella, and potatoes.
Breakfast would be cheerios with milk. Lunch would be Nutella. Supper would be potatoes or mashed potatoes with the flavored cubes.
Hmmm - pretty close to what I already eat!
It would be eggs, potatoes, bread and butter. Everything I need. Egg sandwich for breakfast, baked potato for lunch, potato - egg scramble for supper - all flavored with fattening butter.
Chicken, Rice, Mango, Cocoanut would be my four. I would make chicken and rice, mango glazed chicken, rice cereal with coconut milk, topical rice cake, and i'm sure i could think of more

Which is the Healthier Starch to Eat, RICE or POTATOESI know they have nutritional differences, but when I go to a restaurant, which would be the healthier starch to order as part of my meal, Rice or Potatoes?

I was thinking, is it possible to cook a nice dinner in 15 minutes? Not a TV-dinner, something real, that needs preparation, not reheating. Any ideas? I am so tired of spending my late evenings in the kitchen, but I HATE sandwitches!

I'm about to move out on my own and was just wondering what other singles spend each month on groceries. It seems like what I've worked out so far for my buget has a huge chunk needed for food so I'm curious.
