To decrease carbs from grains bread/cereal and increase fruits/ veggies, what is best way to plan it?
Before having children I did the Southbeach Diet which is low carb and it worked great for me. In fact I would like to do it again.
If you want to do it, I recommend reading the Southbeach Book (it is an easy and thorough read) and then picking a day and do it, don't ease into it or you won't do it. It's a very healthy lifestyle. I like that the author suggests substitutes for your favorite foods, and says to allow special days throughout the year to have some of the high carb items you like (for example birthday cake on your birthday, etc.). It was a very reasonable lifestyle diet, I fell off the wagon when I got pregnant and was nursing and needed the extra energy. Now that my youngest is 3 I suppose there is no excuse.
Good luck if you do it!
