If a hard boiled egg cracks is it still okay to save and eat later?
If it just has a slight crack and nothing has leaked out. Not sure if it goes bad quickly or if you can't eat it at all.
If it's hard boiled its fine to eat later. I'd put it in the refrigerator to save it though.
It should be safe if refrigerated. There is even a process of cracking hard-cooked eggs in many places around the shell on purpose in order to soak the eggs in green or black tea and have "tea eggs" with a different flavor and some designs. I put a few eggs into a jar of the cool tea in the refrigerator overnight for this.
Tea Eggs can be made to yield a range of flavors from strong to mild, salty, sweet, or spicy. They can even be fruity or soak up the flavor of the red onion. Use natural food dyes at Easter, too. read more
Yes if they cracked while you were boiling it that's fine but hard boiled eggs will only last a few days in your refrigerator meaning a week.
