How do you add flavor to homemade candy?
What type of flavoring agent is used? Can you use an extract or is it a syrup, powder, etc?
I have never made homemade candy, but I was thinking that cherries in a jar with syrup that you can buy could naturally flavor candy. Fruit syrups might work.
We use extracts in our dipped chocolate fillings, and I would think they would work for hard candy as well. I don't think syrups would work as well since you would have to use so much that it would require adjusting the recipe, but I don't know for sure.
Most extracts (at least the ones I've used) come in liquid form.
