When we lived in South Jersey, we visited Ocean City, NJ A LOT and there was a candy store on the boardwalk called Morrow's Nut House that had the absolute best coconut "macaroon" candies.  They were not like most macaroons that are borderline cookies and somewhat dry, but were a moist and chewy, sweet coconut candy.  They were the best I've ever had.  I would love to have them again, even if I have to make them myself!

I'm not sure what you're referring to but "coconut drops" are really good. It's a Jamaican candy made of chopped coconut, brown sugar, and ginger. My mother used to make them. Check out hubber cardisa. She might have a recipe for it.

Ha ha ha, cardisa is another hubber, not my mother, who is resting in peace as she smiles down on this Q&A! Lol!

I am sooo sorry!!!  I read a little too much into your comment, I guess!  Cardisa must really be wondering what the heck is going on!!!  Well, your Mom was laughing at this long before we were!!  Have a fabulous day!
