What's the secret ingredient in YOUR chili?

Do you have that little something extra, that sets your chili apart? I like to mix fried ground beef and beef hot links, and red and green peppers in my chili. Is your chili So good you want to enter it in the Nevada Chili Cook-Off? What makes it so good?

Cilantro would be my not so secret ingredient. Some people have a natural aversion to the taste of cilantro, which is fine, more for me.

A can of pumpkin. It makes the chili thick and rich, and bumps up the vitamins and fiber.

That's interesting! It must be a unique flavor combination.

Back in the my days of chili competitions I won a couple of blue ribbons. One of my secrets is when my chili is finished, just before serving it I add about a cup of cream and mix it in real well. This cuts the acid, reduces chance of heartburn and gives it a really nice smooth texture and finish on the palate. Try it out, you'll be happy! - Chef Mickey
