What are the advantages and disadvantages to submitting the same article to Ezines and Article Alley. Can they be exactly the same article?
Advantages......
1. It will give you access to the readers to two websites (two search engine listings)
2. It will give you two backlinks
3. It will take considerably less time than writing two articles which are unique.
Disadvantages
1. You stand a chance of getting banned from either of these two article directories for submitting non-unique content
2. One or both may be flagged as duplicated and their value as backlinks may be reduced in value by Google.
3. Google may flag the duplicate content and not give you such a high search engine placement.
Whilst Google is widely believed to knock duplicated content, this is not necessarily the case. Take Wikipedia for example, a lot of the content on that site is duplicated. PLR copy is duplicated and that still ranks well. Youtube is often duplicate files, and it performs admirably.
Your main problem will be with the article directories themselves both of which do not allow duplicate content.
If you want to maximise the links and release one piece of content to multiple article directories, then take a few minutes to at least make a cursory attempt at changing for each site you submit to.
1. Release your article with a new title each time
2. Change your bio box for each release
Since most of the article sites only have dofollow links in the Bio box, it makes sense to make this section unique, or if you are submitting to 50 article directories, at least have 10 different bios to use. Always change the title each time though!
Hope this helps.
michifus - thanks for the advice - makes sense.
not agree with @michifus. submitting the article in article directories with different titles is not a good practice. Google treats its like a duplicate content and reduces your links and content value. Google is also know that these sites are article sites and if any author publish his articles he will publish in many article directories.
Google treats article directories in a different manner. The purpose of publishing any article to target the more and more audience. This is the reason to publish in many sites.
Yes you can change the bio but not in every site.
John - There does not seem to be consensus on this issue. I understand editing the article and headline to create a "differnet article". If an article is syndicated, how can Google penalize you others reposting your content. That doesn't make sense.
However by creating a different title, you will pick up visitors under different search terms, who would not otherwise have found your content. I do not see why Google would peanalize you for that. OK, so if you do it 100 times that is spamming, but a couple of times for each article is not too bad I suppose, and adds some value.
I don't actually do it at all, a I think it is far better to write 100% original content, and then you can be sure that Google will be nice to you. Maybe that is why I am not as high in the SE rankings as I would like
As for article rewriting software - I hate it with a passion, and anyone who uses it to churn out utter rubbish is polluting the internet.
The problem might lie with the duplication, perhaps you could write an article from a different perspective?
In my experience ezine and article alley are fine about duplicate content. In fact ezine have flagged me only where the duplicate article is non-identical (author name was changed and a paragraph missed). So long as you wrote it both these directories are fine with you publishing elsewhere.

Hello,I just wanted to know whether hubpages allows the authors to publish their own hubs in other article directories under their own name. I just wanted to promote my hubs by submitting them in other article directories. Those articles will be found under my author name "Jubair Ahmed"....

What's the hubpages view on copying free license text and passing it off as your own?Even if quoted, its duplicate content.. which I'm sure would be penalized.. but is it acceptable to do it in the first place?I was just looking at a hub by a constantly-complaining hubber - and her hub is 100%...

I have a question about whether or not I should delete an article and re-write a whole new one with updated content and new images. The old article was published in 2013, has had one view in the last 30 days and has a total view count of 769. Also, it's not on a niche site.I want to delete the old...

Hi had an article published on Associated Content and Bukisa, a few weeks ago when I posted it on Hubpages it said that a substantial amount of it was duplicated. Last night I deleted it off Associated content and I just deleted it off Bukisa but it still tells me that it's duplicated. Is it because...
