You got one doing nicely some months back and all of a sudden turns stale and dormant. How do you reboost its traffic without necessarily promoting it on other sites as am always busy writing on helium & others to have time for promotions. Experienced hubber plz

It is a difficult question to answer without knowing why the traffic died off to begin with. You said it was doing nicely a while ago. Were you getting internal traffic from HubPages or external traffic via search engines?

Internal HP traffic does tend to peak initially and then die off. I don't do anything to try to revive it because the traffic that makes the money is traffic from the search engines--not from HP.

If you were getting traffic from the search engines and it died off, the stock answer would be to build backlinks and promote it on other sites. If you don't want to do either of those things, the only other thing left you could try is to go back to the hub and tweak it a bit. The search engines like fresh content, so adding an RSS feed or some new content might help a bit.

Maybe one of the HP pros will have some more suggestions for you, but that's all that I can come up with.

Some hubs are seasonal.  For example, no matter what I do, my 4th of July recipes hub will only get major traffic for a few weeks each year.  However, it gets enough traffic during those weeks to make it worth leaving published.

For a hub that contains evergreen content, there are a number of things you can do to revitalize a hub that's losing traffic.  One of the easiest is simply to add new content to it.  You may also want to include a news capsule or RSS feed, which will refresh regularly and read as "fresh" content to Google.  Another good thing is to interlink the hub with other related hubs you have that are still receiving traffic.  Of course, high quality external backlinks are the best thing you can do, but if you don't have time to develop them, try the above two tips, and see where that gets ya.

      Maddie summed it up beautifully.

Also - based on the theory that most of your traffic was coming from search engines, some hubs get more traffic when their topic is in the news.

For instance if Lindsay Lohan gets done for DUI, a hub about DUI might get more hits while people are interested in that topic.

Thank goodness for the 'Edit' button wink we always have room and time to improve a Hub. big_smile it could be tags are unrelated therefore not reaching the right audience, season, but it does take time to build a regular traffic flow. Do not despair smile just tweak and update if necessary.
