I was on the create a new hub page, where you pick the keywords and categories etc when I noticed that there was a whole large paragraph of text above this section that I had never noticed other times, along the lines of 'badwords.push(followed by an obscenity), 'badwords, push' (another obscenity) and so on. Why did this happen? My article was only going to be about cats. I hadn't even started typing it yet!
This is probably a glitch and maybe some kind of hack---
I reported the problem to hubpages team and I hope you will find some re assurance from them soon.
This-- as far as I know-- is a very unusual happening.
Sit tight for awhile and don't give up on HubPages for this anomaly. Hang around and watch o see what happens.
Hello MayG,
I apologize for this error. We are currently working on a bug where the terms in a "obscene language" filter are occasionally appearing during the hub edit stage. We are working on resolving this error as soon as possible. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us.
Whatever it was at least it was something harmless and entertaining!
I've just recently started using google chrome because someone said it was faster than firefox, and I really like it except that I get occasional error stuff just like you describe. And when that lot comes up, I can't edit or save anything so its best just to refresh the page, or come out of it and re-enter.
Must be a bug.
Thanks IzzyM. I have copied what I had already written and will start a new page altogether I think. I use Safari. Well, at least I know what all the 'bad words' are. Was quite educational!
I used Safari at the start-- and found that Firefox is MUCH more compatible with Hub Pages--- and other things.
Others here are trying to be nice to you and tell you not to worry..... But Factually you Should be Concerned because:
You have been Busted by the Google All Seeing Eye Director (GASED).
Have you Not been reading your emails lately?
Based on your IP Address and Universal Thoughts.. GASED have preempted appropriate swear words for you, to fit the exact personalities of the Cats in your neighborhood.
If you are a Cat Owner that denies the involvement of your cat in local Feline Swear-Offs, then Google have given you good reason to question your cat's nocturnal antics.
Perhaps Google Earth watch has seen something that you haven't!
Ask your Cat..and don't take Meow as an answer!
This is Very Serious and Can Affect the Advertising Revenue that can be licked out of the local Cat Food businesses in your area!
As a Writer on HP... You have an Obligation to keep your cat in line and not risk advertising revenue being undermined by such events
VERY funny and creative ...diver, but this is a truly new person who might not totally appreciate our silliness at the start.
repent!
Ha Ha Pearldiver. I must check out your hubs - you sound hilarious. Rochelle is right though - I had my hand over my mouth in shock as I started read your message. I am embarrassed to admit that it was only when I got to the fourth sentence that I realized it was a joke!
lmao, now is that the Xmas in July fund, or the one in December?
I've never had that happen, but I have had the whole works 'freeze up' on me, and lose what I've already written, so now, I pre-write in MS Word, and copy/paste into my hub capsule, so I don't lose all my hard work! ;-)
I have also had things freeze up on me. I have also had trouble if I am on the road and I try to work from somewhere other than home. But back to the topic, I would not let the obscenities bother me. Laugh it off and move on, ya know?

Writing under another name I have over 100 hubs published over 6 months. I started getting some traffic and even some Google and Amazon revenues. I have increased my hub count on a steady basis using keyword research. I started submitting to RSS feeds. I have read all the greats on HubPages about...

Do you make more advertising revenue with the HubPages program or with Google Adsense?Personally, I am making far more from the pennies for every few views on HubPages than I am making from Google Adsense. I receive a couple of dollars every so often, but nothing steady. I am curious to see how...
