Hello,
I published my first hub and it was tagged duplicate. I figured it must be for a couple blockquotes of company statements that had been published elsewhere. I edited the hub to link to the statements rather than include them and it is still marked duplicate. I checked the rest of the text with copyscape and it found no duplicates. I'm not sure what else I can do to rectify the HubScore penalty. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
The flag is computer generated and may eventually disappear by itself. Or, if you are confident that you now have original content, you may contact HubPages and request a review:

Welcome to HubPages!
If your pages is considered duplicate and you make changes to it, after it was tagged duplicate, it will take time for a review of your hub, before the duplicate tag disappears.
I recently had to hubs tagged as duplicate, and I eliminated some text and rewrote some of the other text, so as to keep the content original.
When you quote a source and you put it on your hub, then there has to be more of YOUR writing to keep it original and not duplicate. I reviewed your hub and it looks like all the text is copied, simply by the way it was written.
That's just me. Since you are new, the chances you could write an original context in a hub, equal to that of professional status type advertising/marketing/news from others, is crazy to believe.
But, I do hope you get your situation straightened out.
I don't quite understand your statements. How is the hub written that makes it appear copied?
I think I understand what Cagsil means. Your article is very professional-sounding; you could take it as a compliment.
I suppose I will have to. As foolish as it may sound I have some very strong feelings on the matter and tried to be objective. Consequently I believe this is the reason it came off professional sounding.
Experience shows that in the majority of cases where a new member publishes something very professional-sounding (i.e. polished) and then has duplicate content issues, it turns out that they copied from somebody else. Cagsil knows this, but he doesn't know you or your background - so please don't take it personally.
Okay, I'll agree with WE and take it as a compliment.
My point with your article is that how much of the article is written by YOU and how much of the article was quoted?
As I said, I ran into this problem. I quoted too much from some other source versus writing my own content. It was the reason for the duplicate stamping. I in turn, wrote more of my own writing, and eliminated some of the quoted material, just as you did, to correct the problem.
However, it does create ONE problem for your article, it shortened it, which is bad. The average hub, a quality type hub, should have no less than 400-600+ words.
That's minimum. HubPages is an article publishing site, unless poetry or poems. The more words, information you give your reader something of value. Impact is everything.
I apologize if there was something wrong with what I said. I do have a tendency to expect people to understand the words I use.
So, with that said. Again, I do hope you enjoy your time here. It's a great community and many wonderful people for you to meet.
I would be curious to know whether the hub is a spun article.
Thanks, I had checked the faq compiled in the forum and the resolution wasn't listed there.

I was reading a Hub on Hubpages, and was concerned to read the advice that the content we use in our Hubs should be unique, not something we've posted elsewhere on the net.I started out on Helium and have nearly 200 articles on that site. When I joined HubPages, I saw it as a great opportunity to...

The article in question was "Good Title and Caption Ideas for Content Creators". Here is the link to the unpublished page at least showing the url (https://discover.hubpages.com/technology/Caption-Ideas). I published this article on 2-21-22. There is usually a 1 day wait time for...

I notice several disgruntled Hubbers on Eric's new Hub, saying they're leaving HubPages because of the duplicate content flags. They seem to be misunderstanding what the dup content flag is all about - either they think they're being penalized, or that the flag means they have to delete the Hub.I...

Can I post an article to ezinearticles which I have already published in hubpages?

Yesterday someone contacted me saying she wanted to reprint my hub "Does Religion do More Harm than Good" in her ezine. This is the link: http://churchandstate.org.uk/I was so flattered that I immediately gave permission. My article will be there right next to articles from...

I used to have an eHow account, but when they closed the Writer's Compensation Program back in May/June, I removed my articles from the site and deleted my account.A couple days ago, I republished one of the articles here, and yesterday I got an email informing me that the hub had been unpublished...
