Does God teach children about God or is it the parents that teach them?
If God has the power to speak to everyone, why do children need parents to teach them about God?
If the parents didn't teach children about God, would children believe in a God?
Since the knowlede of God is in all things, and generally Parent lookout for the well being of their children, they instinctively teach their children about God ....Though they know it not.
And generally again when they purposefully teach thier children about God they are teaching them falsely.
Finally though it matter little about the 'if' and 'what' they teach, for the knowledge of God is a personal thing and one must teach himself.
Parents teach their children about God. An introduction. It is really no more to a child than Santa Claus.
God does speak to people, but ya have to be open to him. Just like when a parent tells their child no, if the child doesn't open his ears, pay attention, he doesn't hear.
If a person never in their life hears about God, then no, chances are they would never believe. The chances of a person never hearing about God tho is very slim.
Once God touches your life in some way. You will always believe.
I was brought up to believe in an old, bearded man in the heavens who sternly looks down on us.
Now, although I'm absolutely convinced this is not true, I can't help but to get the feeling he is there, watching me all the time ...
Of course, had I not been brought up (conditioned) to believe such nonesense, I certainly wouldn't have come upon this crazy idea myself.
Thanks. You mean you were taught it was a he. How do you know the same one you have the feeling is watching is the same one you were taught about?
Well, this 'He' only exists in my mind, and since nobody or nothing is looking down on me, except in my mind, then the one in my mind can only be the same one who is looking down on me.
I can tell you, I really believed in 'Him' as a child. A very good way of keeping children under control ...
In my religion, God has already written everybodys paths (otherwise known as fate). I'm not sure about christianity and judaism though.
Therefore, if God wants you to find him, he'll put you in a position where you can find him. If he doesn't, its up to you to find him.
Therefore, most parents would want their kids to go to heaven alongside them and would point them towards the direction of God (although, their are some verses which may be interpreted by SOME in a different way, telling them to force children, rather then point them in the right direction). If they don't and God still wants them to find him, he'll get to them somehow.
In other words, its up to God.
But in this world, and according to what we think and know (which he has already programmed into us), its up to us.

Why do atheists spend so much time thinking and debating about God?I mean why spend time over something they say they do not believe exists?I don't believe in global warming, maybe a wrote a hub sometime explaining why, but then I moved on.Before I came to faith, I never gave God a thought, why...

Why do people that don't believe in God, respond to questions about God?Don't get me wrong. I respect and appreciate every response, even if they disagree. That is everyone's right. But I usually don't waste time and energy in things that I don't believe in. Sure, I don't believe in Santa and still...
