      Hi David 470,
Firstly I want to say that sabreblad makes a true statement below.  Secondly, I do believe some Hubbers feel it's not worth the time to submit a URL to SE.  Let me share my experience from submitting a URL to the SE.

A while back I created a free website.  One good webpage talking about revenue sharing websites.  Good quality, good topic, good format (one of my better ones) and I placed backlinks onto the website which fit the content topic.

A few months went by and I checked to see if it were indexed to google, yahoo and bing.  It wasn't.  The website had meta tag description and meta tag keywords too.

I decided to submit the URL to google, yahoo and bing.  About three weeks went by and I thought I should check to see if it was indexed to the SE.  It was and was very pleased knowing that the website was finally indexed to the SE.

The same thing happened to me with a blog.  I create many blogs but I created one really good one.  To me, one of the better blogs I ever created.  I checked to see if it was indexed to the SE.  I checked it about a month after I created it.  It was not.  I then took the time to submit the URL of the blog to the SE and about a week later the blog was finally indexed.

I'll say it again, many Hubbers feel submitting URLs to SE is a waste of time but because of my experience I feel there are times we need to inform the SE of our new web addresses.

Let me add one more thing.  Both the website and blog have a title that fits the topic of the content.

      Have a great day.

Pinging is fine, but I would be very careful on the frequency of resubmitting to search engines.
They can see you as Spam too easily.

      Hi Sabreblade,

So true.  Resubmitting to SE on occasion is OK.  Thanks for sharing.

Pinging is OK as long as you don't spend much time on it.
Search engine submission is a waste of time in all forms.
