As someone else was talking about in another thread - Some of my hubs seem to have disappeared from google's search result. I can find reference to them in my profile or if I have posted the link elsewhere, but the page itself is not coming up in the results.
On top of that, the one I was searching for is being used by a site called freesexpornositewomen.com to attract traffic to a garbage site. And actually appears in the results whereas the hub is gone. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en& … tnG=Search
Help?
My thinking is we have been attacked in some way?
When I click on that search I see the forum topic, with the hub indented below it, but search results can vary by locale. This is the best place to stay up to date on google search happenings:
http://www.webmasterworld.com/google/
You may need a subscription to use it fully.
Honestly, I don't know. I don't really check that often. My understanding was that google crawled the site several times a day so I just assumed it would be.
If that is not the case, I apologize for jumping to conclusions, but another one I wrote after this one is indexed:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en& … tnG=Search
And if the first one shouldn't be indexed, how is it that someone else does have it indexed and is using it to attract traffic?
And now I have rechecked, the hub itself is not indented below the forum reference, it is some other reference to it.
Mark, I'm seeing the "how i got to google's first page" hub in the index intermittently, which means it's in the index in some of google's data centers and not in others. This isn't unusual, they often roll index updates out gradually. I don't know if it is on its way in or on its a way out ...
Here is a site that lets you run searches on all the data centers:
http://www.seologs.com/data-center-check.html
Sorry, I edited the other post while you were replying.
Ok. Sorry to be a pain, but I checked that site and this hub does not seem to be indexed at all.
The google forum you pointed me at suggests the only time this happens is if there is a duplicate content problem.
Can you tell me where you went and saw that it was indexed?
The other thing is - this hub has had zero google traffic. Even my worst performing hubs get the occasional visitor
I did this search using site:your url and this search for the exact title without quotes. Sometimes I get no results for the first one, sometimes I get what you see below.
Your results may vary. I took screenshots, just to show you I'm not making it up.
Also, that other site that is appearing looks like a proxy site. People use those sometimes to browse blocked sites at work. However, they often use underhanded methods to make money and google is usually fairly vigilant about removing them from the index.
I obviously have a lot to learn - I had never even heard of a proxy site. Thanks.
Freesexpornosite? My my we've been busy with the viral marketing havent we
Yeah, not sure this is doing me any good though.
hehe, I didn't think you were making it up,
I am just seeking to understand how the indexing system works and I wondered if there was somewhere else I could go on the web to check because the seologs site told me that none of the google indexes were indexing it and I cannot find it when I do any sort of google search including that one
In no way do I think you are making anything up I have no doubt you can find it - but I can't and wanted to know if there are some tools in my box that are missing.
And how can I post photos in the forum threads?
I'm not the best person to ask about tools like seo-logs. They aren't something I use regularly, I just did a google search for "multi data center search" or some such. I think there are probably better tools out there. It could be that seo-logs doesn't have an up to date list of all the datacenters ...
To put up photos, you need to get them hosted somewhere so that they are accessible at a URL. You could upload them to a hub, grab the url, and then delete the capsule if you want (but we may eventually purge unreferenced images, so that isn't the best way to go). Then you just put the url inside of img tags. more details.
Excellent - I can have some fun with this

The Googlebot visits new hubs within 30-60 minutes while they are in 'Pending' mode and the NOINDEX tag is in place for 24 Hours. This means that the bot does not index the page, and does not return for days or weeks. New pages do not get indexed for days or weeks. This causes lost traffic and lost...

I love HubPages, I feel that I have learned so much here and my confidence in writing non-fiction took such a huge leap when I was invited onto the Apprenticeship program last year. I have met some wonderful people here - both staff and other Hubbers. But as may other people have said, the idling...

Have been through confirming Google-indexed-hubs in my HP's account; I had to use the Google search with first paragraph of each hub in a quotation mark. It was a hectic experience and am wondering if there is any other fastest way of doing this- All the same; the results were impressive as all my...

I do not know if this is the right place to post this question, since I do not know if this is a tech or other question, I just know that something is wrong with my latest hub, (written a week ago) in my Google search, it came up in the results, in a totally different -(not mine)- hub, ...
