Let me explain I have been doing some backlinking as I always do for SEO but the question is this. If I am using a link to my profile page and most all the incoming direct traffic lands on my profile page am I loosing good adsense impressions? My profile page has no adsense ads on it like everyones that I can see.
Yes links to hubs and more hubs blah blah.. the rest are on my profile, but still if the visitor doesn't click on a hub of mine to read I just missed out on potential impressions correct?
So would it be to my best interest to create a profile page hub or from what I see a hublog and direct all my signatures in forums or other backlinks that I don't want going to a particular hub. Instead direct traffic would g to a profile hub or hublog instead of the profile page that way I get the impressions?
Seems like a lot of work for impressions but if huge amounts of traffic go to the profile then It seems well worth it.
I am no means an apprentice to SEO and backlinking, let alone an expert on this. But,
I don't see how your going to benefit from keyword & natural traffic to your profile, as it will be very minimal, a heck of a lot less traffic than to your Hubs. Compare that to keyword & natural traffic and backlinks to each and every one of your SPECIFIC Hubs. If I am interested in your profile, I can select it from any of our hubs.
I am looking at this from 'someone using a search engine's' point of view. I am looking for informative articles, unique or very relative information to my search criteria, not informative profiles.
Jase I was meaning direct traffic. Setting up a profile hub to list in profiles of other sites rather than using a link to the profile here. It's about adsense impressions not search results for what I'm directing. Thanks Wrylilt sugessted capstone but I think that that's a different topic in itself. This is about creating a profile hub simply put for direct traffic.
Ahhh Ok, I am understanding your intent now.
I think that it could be a possibility, and with Wrylilt's suggestion just below to add. On top of this, I may only suggest give it a try and see what sort of effect on impressions you get with direct traffic.
People rarely visit more than one or two pages on a single site.
Why would they want to visit your profile page??????
They won't visit your hubs from it - most of them don't show.
And unless you want to rank your profile for a keyword (why not just make a hub) what's the point?
The whole site already links to your hubs, why bother trying to make your profile a high quality link to them.
I'm just so confused why anyone would want to rank their profile instead of their hubs!
Well I'm not looking to rank my profile. Let me put it this way if you fill out a bio and add a link to hubpages " a site you write for " why link it to my profile? I guess the answer is I don't. But sending interested friends to a hub on never never land is just as bad but I would get impressions but no creditable standings with that friend. So creating a hublog then is the way to go? Of course I don't want to rank my profile lol does his explain it better ?
yeah, I don't backlink to my profile page either. It is good as it is now. Traffic & clicks to your hubs raises your score so why backlink to hub profile?
well, if you have some important backlinks to other money sites, you are strengthening this profile backlink juice which is giving it to your money site.. Instead of profile hub page having a .0010 backlink strength, you are giving it a .002o or more by sending backlinks to it. Will it hurt? I don;t think so but it should be normal and not overdone. I got this from some other SEO guys (veterans) "backlink your backlinks" the process goes round n' round.
Ok thanks I was looking for some input on basically making a generic signature (profile) type hub. Similar to a hublog or capstone. Maybe I'm thinking outside the box some but for the little traffic I do get to my profile page other than hubbers, I would like to to have them land on something other than my original profile page. Preferably a profile page with impressions. Maybe nobody does this for signature links?

Or just your profile and select hubs?

I have been on hubpages for two months. I have read multiple articles on SEO and backlinking. Ninety percent of my hubs do not have backlinking. But I choose for a while to say no backlinking. It was "different" I thought and "original". ...

It appears that there has been a recent change on my profile page. Underneath the number of published hubs, there is a number of featured hubs. I do not want this to be shown. My ratio of featured hubs is less than 50% of the number of published hubs. My understanding of why...

So far I've mostly been relying on writing good content and trusting people to find it, but after a spike this summer, my traffic here at HP has collapsed to some rather depressing levels, considering the number of hubs I have, and I've been thinking maybe it's time to start putting more effort...

It would be useful to be able to sort our hubs into categories on the profile page. This would make it easier for readers to see what else is available in subjects that interest them, and also remind writers to work on a niche. I think the option was available on the old profile page - was it...

I know that you can choose to display your idle hubs on your profile page, but I don't, because I don't want Google to see them at all and get confused by all those "do not follow." What this means is that my idle hubs are not available for anyone to see, and I have to actively...
