I just started and wrote my first Hub today. About a recipe. Now what? How do you get paid on this site. I signed up for Adsense and the Amazon Associates program. But I am still confused on how you get paid.

I have had 6 page views and one comment so far.

One recipe hub isn't going to make you much at all.

welcome, when people clicks on the ads shown on your page you get revenue. When someone buy an amazon product being refered from your ad you get a commission. You can also earn from impression.

Since it is relevant questions, I am going to ask about another one here.

Do we need to place/insert Amazon ads by ourselves? or will they be placed hubpages automatically based on context?

You must place them using the amazon capsule.

you have to place the Amazon ads yourself, its very easy. Just click on the amazon capsule and then select relevant products that match your hub.

No, you will have to choose specific related products and insert their ID in Amazon capsule.

saleheensblogposted 13 years agoin reply to this

Without inserting product ID you can do it also by entering a keyword, but it will show a random result preset by the Amazon for a specific search. If you want a specific item go to Amazon and get the product ID first and then you can enter it.

Just go and check the Amazon capsule, you will understand it automatically, it's easier than our explanation.

As far as I know, payment is sent to your bank account or your paypal account directly or through check. You will need to fill up your account information for receiving your payment. Google will not send the a payment less then 100 dollar.

Geez, I'm am still confused. So I signed up with Google Adsense, received my code and that is all I need to do?

I guess no one is clicking on ads, because I haven't earned a penny, unless I"m doing something wrong,

Did you enter your codes into the Hubpage affiliate set up page in your account page?
And it takes time to start making money with hubpages. if you are looking for a get rich quick this is not it. You also share revenue with HP which means that 60% of the time your code will be in the ad and 40% of the time HP's code will be there.

        You have 6 hubs.

If you got 200 visitors a day to each of them, you MIGHT make $20- $30.00 at most - you probably aren't getting that much, right?

I looked at a few of them.  They are short and hard to read - I suggest you post a link in Extreme Hub Makeover and ask for specific advice, because my guess is you'll need to change them  a bit to have much hope of income.

That isn't meant to discourage you.  It just means you need to do a little work to improve your odds. Take advantage of the help you can get in the Makeover Forum or at least read the advice that has been given to others.

It is hard to try and predict how much a hubber will make based on the amount of visitors.  It can unintentionly misled a new hubber.

@blackpup You have 6 hubs it takes time to start earning.  Focus on writing your hubs first, and the earning will come. It takes work, and patience.

Patience is the key, the clicks on Adsense may get you just the pennies and it is going to take some time to add up for payout.
Amazon sales on the other hand takes time but fetches you the money faster.

      Guys,

      Thank you so much.

A just added an Amazon capsule and clicked on edit button. Its told me that there are two ways to add products and explained about  them.

I chose keywords and entered a keyword. It displayed the 3 relevant products. I was OK with the ads displayed, so I clicked on 'Save' button. They are now being displayed on my hub.

      Thank you again.

you could always create an amazon Astore and place a link to it from your hub.  Just an idea!  Both myself and Sunforged did hubs on this idea.
