When I joined HP, I applied right away for AdSense and Amazon and got accepted without a hitch, but I think things have changed since then and am wondering what's the current opinion on when a new hubber should apply for AdSense?

I ask because someone I know has signed up via my tracker and I'm helping her get things going, but I don't know what I should advise as to when to apply.  She's been signed up now for about a week and has 5 or 6 hubs.

    Thanks!

I think it can vary depending on your country. In Australia I've seen people get Adsense accounts without writing a single hub while in other places you need six months of quality writing to get an approval.

You might be able to gather some more information about current approval times via the Adsense help forums.

If the newbie is in a country that's been identifed as a high spam source (India, China, Phillipines - not sure where else), then she'll have to wait six months before applying.

Otherwise, I don't think there's any specific guideline - like Wry and Mikey, I applied and got mine without a single Hub.  To be on the safe side, you could suggest she writes half a dozen Hubs before applying?

I honestly didn't even know it was an issue. I don't know what I had to do, but when I asked for it I got it.

    I'm from the US.

There is no reason to wait really I have been on Hubpages two months now and am with Google adsense ad Amazon. One thing I tend to do is not advrtise links to things that I can't explain.

Like you, I do not really fully understand Adsense so I would not provide a link to it.

You have been here alot longer than me though, so I'm sure you will get there.

This is a myth because new hubbers from those countries who are applying from hubpages signup form are approved within few weeks. As for high spam resource, this will help.

I'm realy up to my neck with adsense and just feel not to apply again because they keep on giving instructions that to me is not clear, this is my most famous msg from them:

    Hello,

Thank you for your interest in Google AdSense. Unfortunately, after reviewing your application, we're unable to accept you into AdSense at this time.

We did not approve your application for the reasons listed below.

    Issues:
    - Domain ownership

    ---------------------

    Further detail:
Domain ownership: To complete our review of your website, we need to confirm that you have access to the HTML source code of the URL you've submitted or were given access to AdSense via a third-party platform.

    I. If you host your own website or can edit the HTML code, please complete the following steps:

       1. Access the HTML source code of hubpages.com/t/20f151.
       2. Create a separate page on the site and paste the snippet:

<p>This post confirms my ownership of the site and that this site adheres to Google AdSense program policies and Terms and Conditions.</p>

       3. Resubmit the application as described below after replacing hubpages.com/t/20f151 in the 'Website URL' with the URL of the page on which you have pasted the snippet.

number 3 step is not even clear, there is no information below number 3 - thats the last part of the mail. so what are they talking about?

The URL you should send to Adsense is your profile URL.
