   Hubpages is the best site I have ever come across on the internet. I love this site more so because it has so many wonderful people who are both knowledgeable as well as helpful.
   
   In the last 3 days after Google algo changes there have been some really disappointing remarks made about the site from some of the most prolific and respectful hubbers. I mean come on guys you have been inspiration for many and you have also earned a lot in affiliate earnings from hubpages for months and even years.
   
   This is not a time to doubt hubpages authenticity and capacity to tackle these Google changes. There are hundreds of hubs publishes everyday and its almost impossible for hubpages staff to filter out substandard hubs on a daily basis. But these Google changes will make Hubpages a better and spam free site. I am confident that Hubpages has what it takes to rise even higher from its present positions.
   
   Go Hubpages Go WE Love you and will weather this storm out together.

   A great way to look at it . I write on another site that pays a small amount (like .05 per article) to have community editors go through and sort out "the wheat from the chaff," so to speak, and it has done wonders for the overall quality of the site. I wonder if this is where Hubpages might be going to keep up with increased demand for quality. It's too bad that individual pages can't just be left to rise or fall on their own merit rather than based on the platform on which they were published.

      Exactly, I feel like Google is stereotyping sites as a whole, but I guess they have to do what they do...

   Good on you Sid - we need some positivity, and the way that some of the other forum threads are going, it looks like it could be a multiple banning night! New hubbers must be wondering what on earth they have wandered into

   You are right. But I think it may take some time to recover from it. The situation will become even worst if google start to apply the algorithm changes to other places apart from google US.

   Well I was 100% sure that if hubpages stayed the same;(which was unlikely) It was capable of giving me enough money to live an easy life on its own. Not that I didn't have other plans.
   
   Now I am only 50% sure, I'm watching very carefully though. I was just about to spend 6-7 days producing a bunch of hubs coming up here soon. We will see, I might have to move to a different project. If Google wants to get greedy and not let this become a full time job for many people, its kind of sick. You would think they would be hoping for sites like this.
   
   Perhaps they should tell Hubpages to really weed out people that do not belong(if that is what they are attacking), if they are so worried about crappy content.
   
   It is what it is, we will wait and see! I'm semi-optomistic and I only think about it when I am by the computer.

      I am going to try and become versatile where I am writing. I applied for this one website where they pay you upfront, and you also gain revenue sharing. Hopefully, I am accepted.
      
      Versatility is prob the smartest thing to do, but still try and keep a few strong foundations.

   I am not aware of anyone bad mouthing HP during this change other than to question the complete silence of staff for quite a while.
   
   
   I'm sure they are coping as best they can.  Whatever that means.

   I never said that they bad mouthed HP. The most profic hubbers expressed grave doubts whether HP can bounce back from this mess whereas they might have seen this even before as they have been here for a long time.

      Yes, when people's livelihoods are suddenly threatened they tend to get a mite testy.  Seems understandable to a point.

   Well said sid_candid, as a new person to HP I really have no idea what most of this means regarding Google, but what I do know is the people here are awesome and very helpful as well as friendly...
