Hi, all.  Fairly new to the site and have published 9 hubs so far.  Would like you to take a look at them and offer some feedback.  When doing so, please keep in mind that I'm not out to make millions, although a few hundred grand wouldn't hurt my feelings.  More than anything, I'd like to know that what I'm writing has some value to the folks who are reading it and is clearly communicated.  And, I'd like to know how to draw people to my hubs.  If we've stumbled upon each other in forums, and you've decided you're not too terribly fond of me, please read anyway and comment - as a writer.  I'm open to suggestions and critique.

Thanks, all!  Glad to have found you.  Now, please follow me....

    I've reviewed the below hub.
    http://hubpages.com/hub/Good-Customer-S … r-the-Rule

    (a) You need to use more text capsules. You have used one text capsule to cover your entire article. Doing what you did has prevented more ad spaces. By using more text capsules, you instantly create more ad spaces.

    (b) You need to organize your writing- shorter consistent size paragraphs, so your article flows downward. Many people reading will be of the short attention span. If you have larger size paragraphs, you'll lose your reader. Unless you intentionally want to force your reader of the page, hoping they click an ad on their way out? I personally like articles that flow evenly and keep my attention.

    (c) You adding text capsules, gives you the opportunity to add photo capsules along side of them. You can even put Amazon links along side.

    (d) You could add a poll? Gauge your readers.

    (e) You could add an RSS feed or News feed, so your hub always has updated content, so when the webcrawlers come to review your hub, it will see something newer than previously seen.

I hope that helps. I'm off to check out your other two hubs. wink

Thanks!  I'm going to take a look at it again.  I'm still fairly new, and not totally familiar or comfortable with tweaking the layouts and such.  Definitely will look into doing some of what you suggested.

      Thanks again!

    I've reviewed the below hub.
    http://hubpages.com/hub/My-Words-My-Love-My-Life

    (a) Not enough content. I have not flagged it.
    (b) Not enough keywords/tags
    (c) Some things brought up in my previous posts- polls, amazon, rss feed or news feeds can help.

I've also reviewed your other hub.
    http://hubpages.com/hub/The-Invisible-Lover

    (a) Everything from my original first post is needed here.
    (b) The picture at top? Many would say move it, so you writing is closer to the top of the page, so it's the first thing the reader sees, instead of making them scroll downward. However, I say test your own traffic results and see for yourself how it works.

Again, I hope I helped. smile

Most helpful actually.  I actually have that same feeling about The Invisible Lover, but I haven't yet been able to figure out how to make the pic smaller and/or move it.  On my way right now to figure out how to do just that.  Frankly, I may just un-publish the words one.  In my opinion, it was crap.  Just published it to get something out of me that day.  But, I'll also take some of the advice.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

        You're welcome.

Btw- to move a photo capsule, you use the arrows on the capsule. If you use the ---> then it will move the picture to the right hand side and leave it there. Otherwise, you can move it up or down.

If you put the picture on the right side, then you can put a capsule next to it. This works along side of using more text capsules to break up your text. wink

Hey, feel free to read the rest of them if you like.  I don't even mind the feedback in the comments of the hub itself.

Okay, so I make two capsules - photo and text.  The photo is on the right hand side.  I double click to make the text capsule smaller.  Why can't I move it to the left of the photo capsule?  Am I just not doing something right?

If you have a photo capsule and a text capsule in your hub, for this instant- let's say that the photo capsule is above a text capsule.

Since the photo capsule is above the text capsule, you can simply use the arrow " ----> " to push the photo to the right side. It should slide in next to the text capsule below it.

The Text capsule is predominant left. So if you have an Amazon capsule above a text capsule, you could be able to move the Amazon capsule(just like a photo capsule) to the right. An Amazon capsule will stand by itself. Meaning, nothing has to be to the left of it. If you want to move up the text capsule below the Amazon capsule, then you only need to push "up" arrow and it will find itself locked into the Amazon capsule.

When a picture and a text capsule are next to one another, they should lock into place and be level. You can add captions, if necessary to both- text capsules and photo capsules, as well, as Amazon capsules.

              I hope I didn't confuse you. smile

A little.  But like I said - still new.  What I find disconcerting is the huge GAP in this hub - see what I mean?

                http://hubpages.com/hub/Good-Customer-S … r-the-Rule

What's up with that, and how the heck do I fix it?  ??

    Okay,

    This one: http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Lose-a-R … 10-Seconds

    (a) Needs more text capsules.
    (b) Ironic, the article talks about "how to lose a reader in 10 seconds", but fails to capture a readers attention enough to read the entire article.- shorter paragraphs, like in previous comments on other hubs.
    (c) Keywords/tags - should have 9-15 keywords/tags for articles up 1500 words. Any article over 1500 words, you can use up to 40 keywords/tags.
    (d) Add other things- news feeds or rss feeds, or amazon, or a poll.
