I am a new hubber. I want to set my Adsense setting to medium but it is not working and fixed at high.
Secondly can I change my Adsense unit placement or it is fixed?
Thanks
Commercial hubs are required to have an ad level of high. So, to set the ad level to medium just uncheck the box that says "this hub is commercial" first.
The ad units are placed automatically based on the ad level. But the algorithm is consistent, so as you learn the system you should be able to effectively control the ad positions by choosing the layout and length of your capsules.
I don't answer to your first question. thanks [pauldeeds] who answered it.
About the Question 2, you can't control Adsense ad unit placements. Here is some tips for you:
1. Write multiple text capsules.
2. Don't add photo as the first capsule. Alow two text caps then add photos.
3. Remember to add RSS, it helps keeping your hubpages updated by itself.

I am still getting full-width Google ads in the middle of my pages, messing up the layout. The impact of this is that it looks like the Hub is only a few paragraphs long, and readers are unlikely to scroll down far enough to find the full-width ad and the text below it.This can't be good for Adsense...

Hi all, this is a quick reminder that today all capsules will become full width. We originally announced this change back in July, but offered a grace period to give authors time to fix up old articles and ensure capsules would show in the correct order. There is no need to do anything; this change...

The nice thing about the new Amazon capsule is that it displays the description text in the same size as the rest of the hub. This can be beneficial and may turn into better sales. So I reorganized one of my hubs, moving much of my text from text capsules into the Amazon description fields. This...
