Government Ban on Plants in Australia

   There is a new proposed legislation which will stop people growing and keeping a wide variety of plants due to alleged chemicals which are in them. Some of the plants include cacti, violets and wattle varities.

      Sounds like something the EU would come up with! We seem to have entered the age of meddling and control - I can't see what problems a few cacti on a windowsill would cause

      sounds like a plot to make the folks buy what is imported only and not have there own. A loss of personal freedoms, like in the US I guess

      What other wild and wonderful things are our pollies gonna find to waste our good tax payers money on?  This has got about as much chance of getting through parliament in it's present shape as I've got of flying to the moon.
      Included in the list is the 'wattle' tree and there are literally millions of these growing around Australia.

   Just hope they don't go after bananas, hard to tell the effect on earnest if they do!

      The problem is we have a very deeply religious opposition leader in Tony Abbot aka "the mad monk." who will be behind this somewhere.
      He is probably trying to save us from ourselves again.
