Asked to move links

I write some Astrology hubs, and if a person has never had a professional horoscope done, it's hard to just blindly write them to make sense. I had 3 hubs, one about your natal moon at the time of your birth, one to help find your ascendant, and one to help readers find out what sign the moon is in on any given day so they can plan correct activities. They were at the top of the hubs, so the person knows if they read the hub they can get the info from the link. Without the link, if they can't get the moon or planetary positions, the hub would be meaningless. I moved the links lower in the hub. But I see people that have at least 20 or more links and shameless promotions on theirs. I had one link on each of 3 hubs, a necessary one to make sense of what I wrote. I feel it was unfair. My links were not promotional, they were necessary information so my readers could learn something.-

Jean...Paul Deeds stated this in the site update...You can't have them as the first full width capsule.  They are fine if they are half width over on the right side."

You can have the "link" at the Top, just to the right of the First text capsule.  Hopefully placing it there will still give you what you need for your hub. Add a title to the link capsule to show its importance.

Believe me, it isn't personal.  And we're not asking you to remove the links, just move them.

I myself had a single link at the top of many of my Hubs, to a related "master" Hub.  I spent several hours this week going through each and every one and moving the link further down the page.

It has nothing to do with you or your hubs specifically. Hubpages is implementing new rules and changes, with regards to the format of hubs.

Yes, what you've seen on other hubs, will also be addressed. You are not being picked on or anything of the sort. Many issues are being addressed by Hubpages Team, so as to establish better rankings on Google.

    It's not you. wink

Some of the links were half width, but over to  the left side--I'm left handed and tend to do things backwards--though it's really right handed people who have it all wrong, ha..  I understand now that everyone is experiencing this change, and I already went through my hubs (I got to 50 yesterday)! and fixed them. Thanks for the quick reply. I would be happy to see HP just a place for good writers. I saw a one paragraph "hub" about making chile/cheese dip with about 20 products on it, and was getting discouraged about writing quality hubs to be seen along garbage like that. I got the notice to move my links before I saw what Paul wrote. It's all good.

RRS feeds, links, Amazon and Ebay ads are not allowed to be at the top of hubs anymore. All of us who had that were asked to move them.

I had a link at the top of my hub that was important to the hub. I had to move it down and make a note at the begining of the hub to see below. It is my busiest hub and is disappointing.I understand the rules and may need to revise my hub. Do we need to go back on all the Amaz on links and and make them 50 words? I think my brain is on overload, but we will make the site better.

Hey Brakel, you need to visit your hubs(all) and check at the top of the hub to see if they need to be edited. wink

Hi- Someone once told me not to use the layout with the picture at the top, so I am moving all my pictures down. Thanks for suggestion. Maybe I will make more money.

            Hey Brakel,

It's not about the pictures in your hub. I was talking about the outside of the hub. When you look at the hub from the outside, if adjustments need to be made, it will tell you.

You just have to make sure that your hub has at least 50 words to each Amazon ad. For example, if your hub is 400 words you can only have 8 Amazon ads.

I thought it meant we had to make our description of the ad 50 words. I must be in limbo land. Thanks.  LOL

Me too... Maybe the explanations should have been more clearly thought out before  messages were left on everyone's hubs.. Now it appears I only had to move the links to one side instead of taking all the time to move my ONE LINK PER the few I had a link on. Some people have about 20 links on each hub, and no content.

brakel2---see my reply to Jean. You can still have your link at the top, just not in Full capsule. You need to push it to the right of the Top text capsule.
