can we switch amazon to shareasale? Cookies better

   It has gotten really bad at Amazon. I never sold much, but changing the cookies to time on the site instead of 24 hours is bad. Shareasale has cookies that last a long time.

      I use to have a pretty good success with Amazon, but when I restrated up with them here I have not had more than 70 clicks in two months with no sales.  I am no amateur to online businesses and this particular rate of click to visits sucks.  Adsense is doing a heck of a lot better at this point than Amazon which isnt doing anything.  I have tried putting the ads to the side and highlighted, to full page, which is what I am dong now.  Full page gets a few clkicks more, but I am afraid that as you say the cookies they expire to damn soon.

      I'm trying to understand this... The Amazon TOS haven't changed, and from what I read, it's still the same 24-hour cookie. Why the hysteria? Am I missing something?

         Your not missing anything... Op just read TOS a little late in the game it seems.
         
         Cookie life isnt a magic bullet anyway, it helps, but if your getting very little sales, its because you dont attract buying traffic - open and shut, its not a technical error

   Sadly, cookies may end up being a thing of the past sometime soon.
   
   *The EU is lobbying against the use of cookies.
   *Google and other OS and browser creators are favoring the blocking of cookies.
   
   --Most popular browsers have "Privacy" features and Android 2 OS is supposed to have some fairly powerful privacy features.

      Browsers can already block cookies as it is. It actually took manual action for me to get my browser to accept them to begin with.

   You can already use shareasale
   
   and most hubbers wouldnt get accepted into the network and then an even smaller number would get accepted into the various retailers

      Why wouldn't most hubbers get accepted?
      
      Although I think it's important to understand that Shareasale is a network that has thousands of merchants and Amazon a specific merchant. So tecnically it's the individual program that accepts people, with each having a different TOS.

         Ive seen publishers get accepted with blogger blogs and wordpresscom sites etc, SAS is pretty lenient
         
         But that would be Webmasters who also Hub. Ive worked with many a person to get into various aff networks and get their businesses going ..SAS is cake compared to most - but I still cant recall a single person getting accepted off a Hub Profile, but perhaps it happens.

   Ooops, you are so right. I've had my own websites for so long, that I forget many people here don't have one.
   
   So just another reason for folks to branch out.

      Totally Understood, I cant imagine seriously considering "earning online" for a living or decent income without having at least the experience of running a single site

   It's hard get approval from some merchantr because they only accept local affiliates. International affiliates will get declined, do check geotargeting icon if you're unsure. Even uk,ca affiliates get denial with some merchants.
