They have given me credit but it is first on Google (and not mine with hubpages). This is so upsetting.
7 Differences Between the Great Depression and What will be an even greater Depression
I saw another one on your fallout one, on a blog just now. Not sure maybe its your blog?
On that one I see 2, one is a wordpress and another is a "healthjoyful "site ?
Both have been put there without my knowledge or permission...what can I do?
Reporting the wordpress one is probably the easiest. IDK bout the other one. http://automattic.com/dmca/
No one steals my stuff Ima get a complex
Write the author, requesting that it be taken down.
Write the site, requesting the same thing.
File a DMCA report. HP has a help section on this.
I tried to find a place to lodge a complaint but there was no place to write to. DMCA report...what is that?
I've never had to file one (so far the copied hubs were quickly removed), but check out the learning center:
http://learningcenter.hubpages.com/how- … complaint/
Step 1 - Write to the webmaster to remove the article if you don't want it used.
Step 2 - If webmaster does not respond alert blogging platform - wordpress, blogger, etc
Step 3 - If site is running ads contact ad manager and say content is ripped off duplicate.
Step 4 - Read the hubpages help section to see how you can launch a formal complaint legally
Thanks...I used the url above to complain.
I hate this...it happens too often and it's such a pain.
It is a pain indeed, but it is also necessary to protect ourselves against thieves. You're doing the right thing if pursuing it, even if it takes some time and effort.
I've had some of my hubs copied too and IT IS A PAIN. Good luck with getting somewhere Brie. I must say it is easier since HP added the "copied hubs" icon, that's been a good update.
Another option, in addendum to writing to the author, but not requiring massive amounts of legal action, would be to ask that the other post the link to your hub page account in addition to giving you credit.
This way there's a smidgeon of a chance that people will want to read your other hubs and you get the page hits.
Here is what I received today:
Hi,
In accordance with the valid DMCA notice you have submitted, access to the infringing material(s) has been disabled. Please note the notice will be forwarded to the owner of the site in question and may be formally challenged. Should the notice be challenged, we will notify you immediately.

WordPress.com
See? It works!
Generally, I look for a "contact us" link on the website somewhere, and use that to contact the webmaster as a first step. I ask them to shorten their post to an excerpt, with a link back to the original (that way I get a backlink out of it!).
If they don't reply within a week, I then report them to Adsense if they have Adsense ads (click on the "Ads by Google" at the bottom of the ad and look for the report abuse link). Or, if it's on a site like blogger or wordpress.com, I report them to the site owner.
I couldn't find any contact us button. I used the link someone had provided here. There were no ads on it but it was listed first in google (which pissed me off ). So I'm glad they removed it.
Sometimes there isn't one listed, and in that case you do have to go straight to the more drastic options, as you have in this case. I just thought you might find it helpful to know what to do if you get another problem.

The site is w w w. car article. net/Found one (so far) of mine. Have already filed DMCA. I suspect the whole site is nothing but stolen car articles. And they've got AdSense ads.

There is so much of this going on that it may not be worthwhile to mention. Since I know that this site is not cooperative, I sent my DMCA complaint to Google. My hub is copied word for word with all the lovely photographs and even a link to another similar hub. It probably is my best hub with lots...

https://rvbodyrepairsanjose.wordpress.com has stolen two of my articles. He generally writes about auto repairs, but somehow decided that two of my RV articles would look good on his site. If you write about auto repairs, you may want to check to see if he has taken one of yours. In my...

I found some of my content copied on anothe site. I put the URL into the WHOIS site to find out the information. How do I find the email address of the domain registrant? If it isn't obviously listed there, does that mean that information isn't available? The site that has...

Hubpages, has informed me that one of my hubs has been posted to another site. I looked for myself and it was. Posted word for word. I have filed a complaint with the DMCA, asking that the article be removed. What makes me even madder, is the fact that I am not given credit as the author. I...
