Dealt with the rat, it's in the oven now....gonna get some reggae reggae sauce for my tasty rat supper! If I deal with the broken links now I'll have more to do another day but if I don't do it, my other hubs are going to fall eventually in traffic even further.....might have to move some content around and just keep the well trafficked ones here.....

Probably a daft question, but have you asked the broken link tool to re-check? Sometimes, they are not broken after all.

Nah I dunnee bother! they still remain there as broken links, it used to be around 12, but more and more get added, I could retest them but I know that none of them will be mistakes or errors.....just have to go through sometime when I've got nothing better to do!

Ooooh don't say that - broken links will be the next excuse for getting them moderated and unpublished!

Broken links were identified by me, ones that were actually embedded in text, were not showing up as being broken. Only the links in link capsules were showing up, whenever broken.

Bunches of people's hubs have come down and if you were linked to them, then you now have broken links. I know, I went through it with the 60DC gang. I ended up with some broken links and I gave people some broken links as well, because I deleted some hubs that were part of it. Not to mention, my HubLog for the 60DC was one that was deleted.

I was only laughing at the number of broken links. It actually sad that you have to go through all your hubs to fix them and whatever else. hmm

Yeah it's quite possible that some of them broken links are because I've deleted content and moved it to other places, others are broken because hubs have been unpublished....just think of all the broken links that other hubbers must have, that adds up to a lot of broken links and most of them would have been unpublished for something that could easily be changed with an automated email without the need to unpublish! It's ridunculous said the BFG!

I have one hub that “supposedly” has broken links. When I checked them they all worked. So you tell me which one needs to “be fixed”

Whenever I have broken links in a highlighted word embedded in a hub, I am going ahead and deleting other highlighted words as well to prevent future problems.  Too bad as some are undoubtedly good...but this all takes time away from publishing new hubs.  Are any of you doing the same?
