   Would it be possible to not calculate a hubscore until a hub is actually published?
   
   When a hub is being created and you save it before publishing to come back and edit. When the hubscore drops it affects your hubberscore too. There are times when the hubscore rises as soon as you start the hub before hitting the publish button.
   
   There should be a way to have the scores begin to calculate when the publish button is activated. This will give everyone a fair chance before the hub is published.

   I don't agree. I see no problem with hubscore being calculated, once I start a hub. Just be careful on how many hubs you create and work on at a time. That's all.

      Have you ever started a hub and before you even finish it the score went down to 47 - withing 10 to 15 minutes?

         Yes, then after one or two days the score will go up

            My point is why affect you total score on a hub that is not yet published? What if you change your mind and delete it? Will I get my hubber points back? Will the average Hubscore return the way it was? These are all affected one way or the other.
            
            Before you publish the hub it is gaining or losing point without explanation. When you publish the hub, you have the option of posting it on facebook, digg, twitter, and other social sites. An unpublished hub means you are still working on it, you have the option of changing its contents .

         Yes, I have, but what does that have to do with anything. Hubscore has more factors, than just you and the traffic that comes and goes.
         
         It is based on content and many other things. If you keep it unpublished for a couple of days, then you make sure it is quality, by checking it out- re-reading it, looking for errors, then the Hubscore would most likely go up.
         
         Focusing on Hubscore is futile and meaningless, except for one's own ego. It has no correlation to earnings.

            If you can't find anything with substance to say  rather than insulting other hubbers then maybe you should not be commenting. I am looking for suggestions that will help me, not insults.
            
            I asked the question hoping to get answers not to seek attention.

               Maybe you should get over yourself first and foremost.
               
               What you have suggested, is IN a public forum. If you don't understand that, then that is not my problem. I did nothing to insult you.
               
               I was stating the facts as they are. You don't want to accept them, then too bad.

               His comment was not the least bit insulting!  Cagsil speaks the truth...you're focusing on something very small and letting it bother you.  Your hubber score as well as the score on your hubs fluctuate a lot up and down....yes, it feeds the ego when it's high and it probably doesn't make you smile when it's lower but it's really NOT a big deal.  I have one hub that bounces from 100 down to 87 like a yo-yo every other day and I could care less...it still sees the same traffic.
               
               You assume someone is insulting you because they speak truthfully and maturely and then you lash out at that person who clearly was trying to help you?  Cagsil is one of the most helpful people in the forum...perhaps you shouldn't have such thin skin or get offended so easily.  It is highly unlikely that the comment was meant to offend you.

            But the issue is not whether it will go up again, I know that.
            
            I am really trying to figure out why the scores are affected before the hub is published.
            
            Hubsocres and Hubberscores might be meaningless to most persons. They are important to me. They tell me something about my own writing.
            
            If my hubcores keep falling I try to figure out what is going on. Does my hub need more content, original pictures, grammar problems? This is the way I work. I use the hubscore as my point of focus for perfection.

               Telling me that I am focusing on something meaningless is insulting to me. I don't consider this that are important to other people meaningless and futile. That is their prerogative.
               
               Help me understand it instead of telling me to let it go.
               
               The question is still: Why is it affected any at all before the Hub is published? Please answer the question. This is important to me.

   I use this growing calculation as a tool to help new hubbs gain some ranking before they get published. I find as the score for the new hub grows hire, when I do publish it, it gets to the top of the category much quicker than if I published it right away sporting a lower score.
   I guess it is simply a matter of strategy for each hubber. I agree with Cags over all, just don't work on too many unpublished hubs at a time and you should be okay. Good luck!
