I need some help setting up an Adsense account with Hubpages but I can't get a straight answer.  Can I use Adsense even if I don't have my own website?  Adsense sent me a messege that told me I could if I applied through a site that uses Adsense (like Hubpages)and complied with their guidelines.  But when I try to set it up through Hubpages I just get sent back to the same create an account page.

I intially tried to set it up by using hubpages as my url but of course that was rejected.  I then created a blogger account and used my blogger as the url but I wouldn't be surprised if that gets rejected as well for some reason.  Whenever I look up the question I get told that I either have to create my own site and wait six months, which would defeat the whole purpose of using hubpages, or I'm told how to put my account on my hubpages but not how to actually sign up for the account and what url to use.

Please help!  I have been here only a couple days and I'm already thinking about going somewhere else because Hubpages locks me into using Adsense to advertise and getting an account from them has so far been a nightmare.

Not true, actually.  Even if you get accepted for Adsense, it's likely your Hubs will earn only a few dollars in your first three or four months. So even if you have to wait 6 months, you won't miss out on much income.

Hubs take time to "mature".  A good rule with writing on the internet is that what you write today, will earn you good money in a year's time.  It's a long term investment.

Where do you live?  In some countries (India, China and the Phillipines for instance), there is a strict "wait 6 months" rule.  If you're in Europe, America or Australasia you should be able to get accepted sooner.

Did you try following these instructions?

You CAN apply just using Hubpages but you need to link to your own work - which would be your profile page: http://hubpages.com/profile/Robephiles

Don't stress about Adsense. I'd recommend writing about ten articles before applying - most people don't earn more than a few dollars in the first few months until they learn how to write for search engines.

And don't shoot yourself in the foot - if you're trying to earn money online, Adsense is one of the most used forms of online revenue earning - there are dozens of revenue sharing sites that use it, not just Hubpages.

Very sound advice. Write 10 or 20 good hubs then apply for adsense,
It won't hurt your income, as until you have some time under your belt you won't make money anyway, or at least not enough to be of interest.

Thanks a lot.  I just wanted to get the Adsense thing done with so I could just concentrate on content but I just kept getting so much conflicting information.

It can be a little confusing at first - but don't stress, you'll get one eventually as long as your content is of good quality and on appropriate topics.

Well, I resubmitted my application as http://hubpages.com/profile/Robephiles and they still rejected it over domain ownership.  Don't know what to do next.

Try writing ten articles then submit again - they often given generic reasons for rejection. Usually you get about 5 clicks per 100 external (search engine) views so you won't be missing out on much if you build quality content first.

You have to use the HP site in adsense. You can list your profile in 'Channels' to track how it's doing in Adsense. Need 2 accounts but linked with HP also. Have a account set up with google adsense and google analytics. G analytics will give you a little text link thingy --> pub - XXXXXXXXXXXXX which you insert on HP and any other site that supports your adsense acct. There are Hubs which help on this topic too. smile Just use the search in upper corner here. Lots of info on HP smile welcome to world of HP btw.

This information is currently irrelevant and confusing for the OP since he doesn't have an Adsense account.
