Hey Staff,
There is a glitch in the forums. I have experienced it a half dozen times now.
I have edited a post, and the edited part is not to be found in the post. I don't know what the problem is, but it continues to occur.
It is beginning to get frustrating. I'll post something, then go back to edit the post, I'll even type the word "Edit", so people know it has been edited after the fact, but when the post shows up, the edit portion isn't in the post?
Please check on this.
If any other hubbers are experiencing this, please chime in.
Yes, I did notice that. When I went in to edit a post for a second time I only saw the original post and when I exited only the original post showed in the forum.
You are right cagsil. 'Edit' on forum posts are not working. I thought it was only me.
Good morning, everyone. I'm testing out the edit problem here.
Thank you SunSeven and UW. I knew it wasn't just me. I had heard a couple of people having problems with the edit function in the forums.
Shadesbreath and Wilderness both edited posts, but their edits were nowhere to be found. It seems like the forums is eating the edited portion.
I thought something weird was happening.. Thank goodness it is not my comp that is acting weird
@Cags.. edited successfully
I too look forward to this getting fixed. I am in the habit of editing my posts, and don't appreciate people seeing what I initially thought that I meant.
Are people still having problem editing forum posts?
I've had one person email me with regards to editing forum posts and problems doing so.
So, that begs to ask. If you are still having problems, please post here.
Hopefully, it can be cleared up. The problem was addressed by Robin and fixed. However, some people might still be having problems.
If you are still having problems, it could be a caching issue. The fix was pushed out about an hour ago. Let us know if you are still having trouble editing! It's working fine for me now.
I am not having issues at all. But, like I said, someone else contacted me via email. So, I bumped this thread, to see if other people were having any problems and if so, then hopefully the problem could be addressed.
That's all. Just trying to be helpful.
Edward, our wonderful engineer at HubPages, fixed the editing bug! Thanks, Edward!
Hey Robin,
I suggested to the person who emailed me, to upgrade their browser and to clear out their cookies, then reload their browser. However, I do not know if that fixed their problem.
I also wanted to give other people a chance to see if the problem was continuing. That was the only reason I bumped this thread.
But, thank you for responding.

Paid forum posting is a business that's growing rapidly because of the glut of money in politics and the desire of commercial interests to promote their products and to blunt criticism.Should paid forum posters be forced to acknowledge that they are being paid? Should they be banned from posting...

I have a list of more than 100 (106 to be exact) do follow forums, I'm just wondering if it's really effective before I register in all of them, signing up with 106 websites isn't a joke, it's time consuming so I'm just wondering if anyone here have tried it before, and what's the result?? ...

There are a lot of us who haven't been feeling safe on the forums. They've felt stalked, harassed and browbeaten.Sadly, some folks go with the letter of the law, but not the spirit of it in their posts. For an excellent post on why we need Forum Moderators, check out what Makingamark says here...

Perhaps to strike a balance between what one portion of HP users want and the rest of us...maybe we could start up a "Newcomer Thread - Q&A" that has equal staying power to some of our popular word games. There won't be an official decision to parse up exactly which content goes...

Very weird, but for the last few days the option to go back a page no longer works if I am currently on a forum and trying to leave it to return to a non-forum page I visited previously. In fact the best I seem to be able to achieve is to go back to the first page I entered the forum on, but not to...
