I'm just wondering, how do people feel about this show?
I've watched it, and their idea is to push kids away from underaged pregnancies, but it doesn't seem to be doing that at all.
How do you feel about it?

I do not like it.  Yes they show how hard it is, but they also show that they overcome it.  That says its possible if you stick it out.  That is the same with any activity, there are football movies where they loved playing the game but showed how hard it was on them, that is made to build stronger characters for the game.  If a teen really wants to have a baby and they watch that show, we just told her that it is possible and can make her a stronger parent.

Not helpful at all...but thats society today.

it also reminds me that I did not have sex as a teenager, and this makes me very sad...

as do the shows '26 and pregnant' and '36 and pregnant'

I would be fine with a show called "37 and 1/2 and pregnant"

i was in that one and it was hard work- i debuted in the 29 1/2 and pregnant and reprised the role in the 31 1/2 and pregnant all of which were a great hit in our family but did not make a profit and in fact we are still paying for it

The show disgusts me as does seeing these girls' faces on every magazine in line at the grocery store.  All it does is glamorize teen pregnancy.  And CaseWorker, I have you beat...my show was 42 and pregnant...it was rated "H" for "Horrified!"

I think it is helpful to some young girls, but others come away from it with the wrong message. They see these girls who made an alleged "bad decision" and now they're famous and on the cover of entertainment magazines. Most young girls have their heads screwed on enough to realize most pregnant teenagers can't use their situation to become famous, but I worry about the ones that don't see that.

I feel the same way about Bristol Palin. She's trying to tell young people to abstain from sex and using her own life as an example, but what negative consequences has she experienced as a result of her actions? Has the daughter of a failed vice presidential candidate ever become this famous and this rich at such a young age? She made over $200,000 last year giving a few speeches about abstinence and safe sex (not to mention getting paid to take dance lessons with world-class instructors), and paid cash for her own house in Arizona. How many 20-year-olds can afford their own home without their parent's help?

If a teenage girl is looking for some attention, 16 and Pregnant and Bristol Palin have shown her what she needs to do.

Yeah, the idea was good at first. But the whole thing has turned around and just made the situation worse really. Even schools are starting to support underage sex and girls becoming pregnant.

They supply kids, privately, with birth control, and have baby day cares for teen mothers.

Ok, just a different interpretation of what those gestures mean, then.

Saw bits of one episode.  Lots of family members who were more than happy to take the burden whenever necessary.  BF who wanted to stick around forever and discussion about marriage (presumably because she got pregnant)  Didn't see the whole thing, but that's what I took away from it.

She appeared to be driving a car someone else bought for her, parents took kid for a while so she could get all dressed up and go out with BF...

Unless I missed something significant by not seeing whole episode, it looked like a dream life for a young girl.

Where I live, you'll see a lot of girls like that. Too many parents are supportive of their kids and that's the only reason it makes it so easy. The parents support them, and give them everything, and it draws attention from other family members who start to help and support them until they've got the attention and help of most of the town and then some. It get's really annoying honestly.

It's not that I'm against any of what the family was doing or even that I wouldn't do the same thing, but it almost seemed like it was glamorizing it.

I'm quite sure many of the young girls who see that are in for a much different experience in their own lives if that day comes.

It was a long way from being a deterrent.
