Just use aluminum free deodorant. Make sure its not an antiperspirant since you need to sweat to get rid of toxins. Not doing so could lead you to suffer from breast cancer.
I made once my own deodorant, it worked. I also use a small business family made all natural ingredients deodorant when I want convenience (funk butter). Store bought deodorants are full of stuff that I don't want on my body.
I was told it clogs your pours and makes it difficult to sweat, which I suppose is very unhealthy in certain conditions...
The thing that makes it effective at fighting odor is what makes it hazardous. There's aluminum inside deodorant and that's what clogs your pores, which is the cause of many problems with rash.
You can purchase deodorant without aluminum, such as Tom's. Another thing I've heard of people doing is using baking soda.
I agree with klarawieck, though sweating under the arms may be unpleasant, it helps the body naturally dispose of toxins.
Years ago I used to buy powder deodorant from Avon. It was called Black Suede. I loved that stuff, and rarely had a problem with sweating when I used it, and odor wasn't a problem.
I have a tough time with the newer deodorants, not only do they not work for very long, they leave nasty yellow stains in the pits of my white, and light colored t-shirts. I also notice that almost all my shirts are getting some kind of white residue on them, that won't come out in the wash. So a lot of my t-shirts get ruined pretty quickly, usually from that gel crap, which is why I do my best to avoid buying it.
Laundry soap seems to be getting cheaper too. The only cleaning product I do like is all purpose body wash. I never buy bar soap, or powdered laundry detergent.
